Punished for every mistake defensively all goals against scrappy . livi experience and size giving them edge but the bhoys kept at it . some individual mistakes cost . scored best goal of game. second half the boys where the better team some great passing moves just couldn't get breakthrough all tried their best but livi have shown them that they need to step up their game and physique to play at higher levels . miller nesbitt hendry hill mcart showed they have a chance of progressing and young ralston specially after having a poor first half kept at it and had a really good second half.

Games, opposition and experience for these players is a good thing for there development a run in this cup is almost as beneficial as going out on loan they done us and celtic proud.

Going out on loan rarely improves a young Celtic players chances of returning a better chance of becoming a Celtic great . Surely we should have the best equipment and the best under-age coaches to bring youngsters through .
Many young Glasgow players are away from home for the first time when they go out on loan and can easy fall foul of not maintaining a good lifestyle that is necessary for young players in the present era .
What may be gained by playing in a competitive league against hardened professionals can be lost . It seems many loaned youngsters don't get played that often.

This whole Kriss Commons vendetta, thingy, smacks of all these Ronnie worshipers getting all annoyed at someone calling out their hero about some of his crazy decisions, it might be all right for the lickspittles (thank you George for that word) , like Oldbhoy, putting kowtowding to your suppoesed superiors, i. e. manager, before the best interests of Celtic football club, well in my opiniom and, as Brian Clough said, that's the only one that matters, I wish we'd got rid of Ronnie sooner, and that Kriss had played more games in the previous two seasons, as for Ste Gerard, please God, no, no, no.

04 Sep 2016 01:04:15
Commons should have played more under Ronnie but that doesn't mean he should play now.

04 Sep 2016 01:12:31
DRB these youngsters should not be losing to lower league teams in this manner.

Clearly they are not good enough to make the steps up, had it been Hibs or Dundee Utd that horsed them 5v1 then aye it's a lesson but a league one team with no talent then sorry it's not even worth talking about

Stop making excuses for age, it means nothing if your good enough your old enough.

04 Sep 2016 02:51:27
I don't think we loan youth far enough away. Get them away to a country where the culture will help them progress :) .

04 Sep 2016 12:24:36
Ridiculous comments kev. what do you suggest shut down the youth programme and give them all away because these kids got beating once by an experienced team of pros with years of experience in competitive pro leagues . this would never happen to our first team imagine getting beat by a lower league team unthinkable.

04 Sep 2016 13:48:02
Need to agree with Kev DRB how many times have you said this player or that player deserves a chance. But can't cut it at that level?

04 Sep 2016 13:58:15
You always have the angry father type. The type that you see at children's baseball matches in the USA.

04 Sep 2016 14:10:23
So one defeat as a youth against league oppossition determines your future at celtic toprig?

04 Sep 2016 14:18:21
I usually agree with u kev mate but not on this 1. It was 1 game against a livi side that play decent football at times. There still young and learnin there trade. Give the young bhoys time. They weren't totally outplayed was jus sum silly individual mistakes. HH.

04 Sep 2016 18:11:04
5v1 in 45 minutes tells me they are not good enough. I recall people on this site saying our colts would run amok right up to the top of the championship but reality is they wouldn't.

DRB it's not as simple as one poor game, I bet if they played each other 5 times Livi win all the time. Now correct me if I'm wrong but our youth players should be the best team out there and IMO should be beating Livi.

Kris Commons managed to have an unnecessary operation in close - season because he did not want to have to do the hard work of pre- season . Since he eventually returned he hasn't attained the minimum standards that B R requires .
Kris loves Celtic so much that he is prepared to sit at home on match days and draw £20,000 a week from the club he started to love when he was 30 .
I know others who love Celtic and advise us all on a regular basis quoting English Managers who died from alcohol poisoning but these people's love of Celtic is far greater than Commons who has given the club some service but cannot do it any more . The manager now and the last manager was not prepared to set the team up to make an unfit 30 something look well.

04 Sep 2016 19:59:42
Of course Kev T you are right to have the opinion that the youngsters should be beating Livinston . However they are not playing on a level playing field . It is obvious that the football management at Celtic do not consider beating Livingston and progressing in that competition as important .
I think we remember that the club have loaned out a number of better players to other clubs presumably to get first team football . Now I think some of these have been called back to play for the youngsters.
No matter if all the players were at Celtic full time and preparing for the next match every day, we would have a better team .
Beating Livingston wasn't a top priority.

04 Sep 2016 21:16:01
Hard to argue with that Old Bhoy.

04 Sep 2016 23:14:39
Old bhoy, maybe I misunderstood you, it wunt b th first time, But now I c your afinity for Ronnie, you would Av ignored brian, I drink too much clough, not the sort of person you wid Av as a manager, xcuse my spelling, is a weakness Av goat.

05 Sep 2016 01:14:04
Aindoh, I found it very difficult to understand your post tonight . You somehow see my affinity for R D, your eyesight must be very good as currently I have no affinity to Ronny . I make no apology for supporting him whilst he was our manager, as that is our role as supporters to encourage and build the confidence of our footballer players and managers to hep the team
As soon as B R was appointed he became the man. I support .
If R D was the worse manage in Great Britain I would have supported him against the sly thug K C. For his public display of down right disrespect .

05 Sep 2016 07:01:03
Oldbhoy, if it came down to a choice between a pisshead like zClough or a clean living boy like Ronnie, as manager of Celtic, who would you take, its a funny old game, innit?
Ps your comment about supporting any manager just because he is the Celtic manager, no matter how inept he is, well. that says it all.

05 Sep 2016 17:08:07
It was men against boys. The colts have been doing well but shows it is still a big step up for them even against a team like Livi. Need to be loaning these kids out to be playing against teams like this week in week out. It will either help with their progression or show us which ones aren't quite good enough to cut it.

05 Sep 2016 22:27:43
Aindoh You just have admitted you don't support Celtic, but are just a glory hunter supporting people who bring success to the club .
Myself and thousands more support Celtic warts and all, that what sets us out different from the mobs who support EPL teams .

05 Sep 2016 23:39:59
Oldbhoy, you have just admitted you are a notso glory hunter, you will support anyone aslong as he is masquerading as the Celtic manager, no matter how bad his decisions are, no matter the depths he will drag this great club to, aslong as he is the manager, everyone must praise him, praise him,
