Would Efe not do a job for us as a DM? He's fast and strong and was bought as a defender who could also play in midfield. We all know the damage he can do in his own box so imagine the havoc he can cause in the opposition's and the oppportunities he can make.

Stengo.

I'd say yes. Although I'd love to see Henderson given a chance as well.

01 Sep 2016 19:01:16
His distribution is not good enough to play there.

01 Sep 2016 19:05:46
Love it Stengo. lol

Got a point lol.

01 Sep 2016 19:10:42
Hi Stengo-welcome to the site. I also think our man Efe could possibly play in midfield. I would just never make him my last man as his decision making is horrendous.

01 Sep 2016 19:14:00
distrubution not good enough? not any worse than scot browns also he can win a header unlike brown and bitton he was a dm for ashdod or whatever they are called but i doubt it matters he won't get a chance in any position with some of our support.

01 Sep 2016 20:03:37
Jesus. The guy isn't not good enough for any position. Why are people trying to shoehorn him back it the team when writing have managed to get him out it?

01 Sep 2016 20:06:50
would he not take the role as janitor hahaha nah that's harsh but your right he needs a role and if he's able to play midfield without any scares then i think it should be considered, we can't seem to let him go and we can't let him stay with a wage and not do anything, or he might just be used in easy games.

01 Sep 2016 20:07:37
Bang on kev.

01 Sep 2016 20:14:02
I think now that the transfer window has closed and we failed to address the soft non-tackling, non-tracking midfield, we should be looking at all possibilities with the players we are left with.
I am in no doubt that BR would like more- better players in and get rid of a few he inherited, but we are stuck with this squad until January and considering, we are involved in every tournament available, we have to utilize every player and try new ideas?

01 Sep 2016 20:14:24
So Scott browns passing is no better than ambroses, if you believe that, you know jack rubbish about football and I'm not wasting my time with you.

01 Sep 2016 20:24:45
Surely he's worth a try in that position in the reserves to see what he's like.

01 Sep 2016 20:53:47
fabadabbydoo so scot brown is known for his passing is he have a word with yourself brown's passing is average at best.

01 Sep 2016 21:39:00
Brown gives the ball away far too often and his ball control is questionable at times. HH.

01 Sep 2016 22:19:58
Now your just making up conversation's you have had with yourself and putting them into posts bigD, I never said it was the strongest part of browns game, but his passing is still miles better than effes and is very important part of being a central midfielder.

01 Sep 2016 23:34:23
well fabbi I tried posting some links that prove you wrong but for some reason either the ed didn't get them or just didn't post them site called whoscored . com and for the past few seasons in Europe going back to 12/ 13 season efe ambrose and scot brown have the same pass completion percentage (82.4%) with only a difference of average 10 passes per game between them (brown 46.1 total passes efe 36.2 total) now I don't care if ambrose stays go's or whatever but go check the stats and you will see I'm right.

You really can't compare a defender passing stats to a midfielders, centre backs most of the time are either playing a simple pass to the other centre back/ full backs or to the goalie it is a large percentage of their game.
Midfielders have to play passes in the busiest part of the field and the killer passes which have a much higher risk to them.

02 Sep 2016 03:31:17
for the most part in the years I have mentioned scot brown has played a deep midfield spot and I agree to an extent with you but broony does not play killer passes and a lot of his passes are simple 5-10 yard's but this other guy is trying to make out broony is pirlo compared to efe which he most certainly is not also the topic was on dm not cm anyway i would rather play ajer at dm XD.

02 Sep 2016 04:19:29
How anybody can disagree with rayman there.

02 Sep 2016 05:03:37
Spot on rayman was just about to post the same thing myself, you know where the saying there are lies, dame lies and statistics comes from now .

02 Sep 2016 06:29:06
How does saying brown is a better passer than effe, make him pirlo? Your just talking rubbish now, guess we know what the D stands for in bigD, now put your cap back on and go and stand in the corner.

02 Sep 2016 06:39:21
Stats are important. But comparing a CBs passes to a CMs isn't much use.

Scott Brown plays more forward passes than people might think. Besides there's more to a midfielder's game than passing anyway.

I'd certainly like to see Ajer developed. He can defend and create, he's got a physical/ aerial presence, can move a bit and he's got goals in him.

02 Sep 2016 09:50:51
Better for him to play there then if he makes a mistake there is people behind him to sweep up the mess. He gets caught out with the long ball that's his biggest downfall so in DM he wouldn't have that worry. I would rather him in the reserves than play at CB.

02 Sep 2016 09:38:48
scot brown is no better at passing than efe. they have the exact same average successful pass percentage.

02 Sep 2016 10:44:49
Tbh bhoys regardless of the stats etc I've seen enough of efe and the majority of fans have also.

I get the point about not playing him at the back but what about Gordon?
The guy couldn't catch a cold so should we fire him onto the wing?

The biggest disappointment for me during the transfer window was he didn't leave along with a couple others but efe is the one I wanted rid of most.

02 Sep 2016 11:36:17
big. D, do centre backs and centre mids play the same sort of passes, in the same sort of situations? You've got to take a huge qualitative look at it not just quantative.

When Efe first signed he played CDM, and looked ok. I've said many a time I'd prefer him at RB to CB too. But thankfully, now, he doesn't get in at RB, CB, or CM. Why people are trying to shoe horn him anywhere in the team is beyond me.

02 Sep 2016 12:12:58
If you really believe that effe Ambrose is a better midfielder than Scott brown then you are welcome to your opinion , maybe he is also a better striker than Griffiths as well because I remember effe had a shot on target in one game and that left him with a statistic of 100% shots on target and griff had 10 shots but only 6 on target so had only 60% of his shots on target, statistics are funny aren't they .
