Ed, like you I had many reservations when we signed Leigh Griffiths. Firstly I thought he was a substandard player and not good enough for us, and secondly I felt his off field conduct left much to be desired. Now I see a player who in my opinion has improved to a level worthy of a place in our team. Not the finished article but a player who has obviously worked on his game and has improved tenfold. As for his off field activities, I don't have, nor want access to his private life, but feel that he seems to have grown up and to an extent grown into the jersey he wears. His gesture today seemed genuine and I think he deserves praise and credit for understanding what it means to be a Celtic player. I was wondering, do you still have doubts or is he growing on you?

{Ed007's Note - I was thinking that to myself today, LG really has really turned his career and life around and good luck to him. I still don't think he's good enough to play as our main striker in Europe if we're playing one up front. I'm delighted that he's made me - and people a lot more knowledgeable than me - to eat our words.}

Ed, from time to time in life we all prejudge others, Leigh Griffiths deserved his reputation and I hope he continues to reform. The Lord loves a repentant sinner.

{Ed007's Note - If he keeps scoring the way he has been he could be with us for years to come. I much prefer being proven wrong than proven right when it comes to not rating any Celtic player.
I don't think Forrrest has enough years left playing football, or even living, to win me over before you think I'm going soft in my old age!}

Remember when Griffiths was a bench warmer and would always chat to fans and kids when warming up even though some were on the wind up. Would like to see 3-5-2 used a bit more and see if Griff and Dembele can strike up a partnership.

LOL, I won't even attempt to argue with you on that one.

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

Gordon was in the studio for the Happy Bear Shavers game and lineker asked him, why only 17 (is it? ) Caps.

GS said in a 2 up front attacking formation he's the man - but most of Scotlands games require someone who can play on their own upfront and hold the line etc etc etc etc as we have to play most games defensively.

I just don't think he did that effectively enough against HBS - he didn't get much support/ service tbf - but imagine the same against Barcelona and Man City.

Let's be honest, he was a complete tool on and off the field a few years back and we were all well and truly justified in our reservations but he's worked incredibly hard to turn that all around and he must be commended for that. He's on his way to being a club legend if he keeps up this form. He's been down in England and had a very decent scoring record and still wasn't wanted so I could see him being here for a good few years to come.

The wee man has definitely done the business on the park, and stopped the nonsense off it, credit 2 Rd as he started the process of getting lg 2 really fulfill the potential he had n 4 me started the making of it as a proper Celtic player and credit to lg 4 knuckling down n tearing it up in goals and for me he continues improving under br and I hope he can step up in Europe with a bit more experience at that level. Griff is my my wee bhoys favourite player n he loves seeing the wee man score, he was over the moon 2 day.
Hail hail.

Good comment about LG staying for years to come ED. However, on past record, if he does improve as he has been then our board will sell him off. Wee mention for RD who has obviously sat down with the boy and helped him change.
BR has done well so far. Very early days but I am concerned if has some success here then he will jump ship if a big club comes knocking on the door.
Anyway, enjoying the start to the season so far. Hail Hail.

Tiny Tim, I don't believe the Celtic Board will want to sell L G unless he or his agent demands a move. I don't think L G will want to move down south as he has been there and seen that southern pasture are not always green .
He makes no secret of the fact that Hibs are his team and 18 months ago a loan there was all the rage . Thank God common sense prevailed and we have our goal scoring Leigh who this season already has scored regularly in Europe .
If the chances are created L G will convert a reasonable %.
