Afternoon ED, just wondered what your thoughts are on the changes being made to the champions league set up? What do you think celtic's view on it will be?
{Ed007's Note - I don't imagine they'll be over the moon about it but it is what it is and there's nothing Celtic or anyone else can do. I don't understand the sudden surprise as we've known this was going to happen for a few years now and the only problem Celtic fans seem to have with it is that they aren't involved. If Celtic were involved they'd be all for it.}

I don't know about that Ed. I've always believed that the Champions League should be exactly that. It wouldn't excite me to be playing the same teams every year - hence why I was disappointed to draw Barcelona again.

One positive I have seen is the change to how the co efficient works.

I don't mean you personally henrikstongue its just a lot of fans are really unhappy with the draw but were desperate for us to get there.

I wouldn't be surprised if eventually something similar starts to happen in the English premiership.
I can see the time when Sky TV will only want to show matches like Man Utd v Liverpool, or Arsenal v Tottenham. There will come a time I think, when they will tire of trying to hype up games like Stoke v Middlesbrough, or Burnley v Watford.
As has happened in the Champions league, I can imagine the top 4 or 5 clubs demanding an even bigger share of the pot, as they will argue that they are the reason people subscribe to Sky TV and not the lesser clubs.

Might work out better for Celtic as I think each team in the champions route are based on the own coefficients which means the woeful performance of other scots clubs won't bring us down.

We can't have it both ways ie cry out for CL football then when we get it moan about playing Barcelona again.
Some fans seem a little hypocritical about this, alternatively we could have been playing Southampton in EL.

I can understand Spain, Germany and England's top 4 but Italy don't deserve 4 in the CL automatically. Apart from Juve, the rest are all very beatable and have been a shadow of the powerhouses they was 5-10 years ago.
