just had to join to say wtf to some of the rumours recently - skinny - you know I mean you.
what a nightmare draw - worst possible, I would have fancied our chances in any other group, except 1.
forget signing anyone else I say - reserve that cash till Christmas window or tying people up on frees like kolo for next season.
also against Barcelona and MC play the reserves and keep our stars in peak condition for the big league games and the BMG games - hopefully take 3 points at home and 1 away (yes I know against a team who score 9 qualifying. )
That is our only chance of going further and winning the league, getting to CL next year and another 30m
Surely even the most delusional celtic fan can't think we can compete this year.

Utter nonsense! Nobody is expecting us to win the CL but they do expect us to compete. Try telling our first team they are being benched for the reserves and Brendan would be battered to death with fitba boots!
You don't seem to understand what CL football is and what players would do to appear in it.

Didn't know that Ed, didn't really follow Liverpool in Europe. What was the reason for that, did he concede before the game was played because it was Real?

Champions league is the shop window it's that simple if one of our young players tierney, Forrest, Rogic, mgregor has a real good game against Barcelona or city even if we lose heavily their value sores up.

sorry if I sound negative - I am a total optimist come every matchday and the CL anthem plays regardless of opposition.
Not being pessimistic just being a realist. Bank the doh this season - win league - qualify for next season with £60m warchest - use this seasons cl use as and education for the young kids - try to win the BMG games to get to the Europa latter stages.
That's a 2 year plan - and as Ed007 says BRs done it before - not a popular plan but more chance of that happening than this year.

Aye baws to that. Can you imagine the score line with our reserves away to R. M or M. C. it would be double figures. We go and we fight to the last man. We have done the unbelievable before i know, i was there. ain't no right offs in my book.

Edd007 it was no laugh for me mate. It was disgraceful. He's a terrible manager, absolutely woeful. He left us in a mess, bought poorly, indirectly blamed the club for his transfers and constantly talked crap to the media . The man's a fool and celtic will most likely be embarrassed in the champions league. He can't manage a team to defend to save his life. When we were conceding tons of goals a game he was stating "you can't coach those Mistakes ". Honestly man I could go on and on, he's out of his depth at the highest level.

was apprehensive and disappointed when br signed.
but (as you can see from all the post anti-mine) as celtic fans like to think we can take on the world and like to give people chances. even after all the last few season disappointments.
BR has already hinted that the fans need patience during European games - so I'm lowering expectations and just going to enjoy each match as it comes - although enjoy was not the word I was using when watching the Happy Bear Shavers.

wcw - dates were fake - just to highlight my original post about forget midweek unwinnable CL games and win the must win SPL games at weekend - so we can bank another 30 mil next season.

Typically the games around Europe are fixed it's like that every season. Some to note - Hearts (a) Aberdeen (h) Rangers (h) Inverness (a) Dundee (a) Hamilton (H) Aberdeen (a) Inverness (h) St Johnstone (h) all fixed to make us try drop as many points as possible. Hope it all back fires.
