Palestine flags. Shame on us. Well shame on them who flew them. Not a true celt in my eyes. Thanks for landin our club in rubbish again!

{Ed007's Note - True Celt? And you're an expert on that are you? Why don't you enlighten us on what a 'true Celt' actually is? Perhaps you could learn more about being a true Celt by reading about Bob Kelly in 1968 when he forced UEFA to re-draw the European Cup.
I thought the support was absolutely fantastic tonight and showed that they aren't willing to lose their principles or start forlock-tugging just to appease politicians. They also backed the team to the hilt and didn't give the press or Zombies the story they wanted. Tonight the Celtic support showed once again why they can be the best in the world - especially when people ignore the odious repellent panty-wetters.
You do know the Club backs and supports Palestinian charities don't you? Did the Club ask supporters not to fly flags or did you read it in the paper (or a TRIFC site) that UEFA had said so? Why don't you contact Celtic and ask them if UEFA contacted them over this matter before coming on here preaching from a point of complete - and astounding - pig ignorance.
You are THE only person I know that's mentioned this since the game apart from daft Zombies, perhaps you're disappointed that it isn't getting the reaction you wanted. I'm sure you'll be quick to tell everyone who will listen how bad the Celtic fans are, have you considered a Facebook rant? What about an online petition?}

If we're so supportive of Palestine why is it the game we play israelis that we fly there flag. Never seen them in park head before. It was jus stupid people more interested in politics than there TEAM. I jus can't agree with u on that sorry ed.

{Ed007's Note - You've never seen a Palestinian flag at CP? I'm not even wasting my time talking to you about it. The Palestinian flag is on show at EVERY single Celtic match, home and away, and has been for years. Think about that and tell us all why tonight should have been any different.
There's no disagreement, to disagree you need to know what you're talking about. Who are you to tell other supporters, grown men and women what they should or shouldn't do? Isn't that up to the Club?}

18 Aug 2016 00:24:41
One of the first things I said to my mate at the game was how many photos the press were taking of the celtic fans flying the Palestinian flag. It's as if that's all they wanted to see. persons!

{Ed007's Note - Spot on, Steph. They couldn't wait, and wait until you see their headlines. Scotland must be the only country where you need to be careful about bad mouthing genocide.}

It's about to land us In shoite from uefa how is that a good thing? Can we not jus concentrate on the football.?

{Ed007's Note - How do you know this, did you fire your complaint in during or after the game and they got back to you? I couldn't care what UEFA have to say, why didn't the Club make any statement about it, have you contacted the Club before coming on here preaching about being a 'true Celt'.
And I'm not insinuating anything by saying this but you're the one that brought this up, why didn't you concentrate on football? This whole thing reeks of Zombie patter with their 'flegs' and people looking for something, anything to be offended or upset by.
What about those pesky fans singing about rebelling against the Crown - is that OK with you, why not concentrate on football? Do you have a problem with Basque/Catalan flags being at Celtic Park too or is that the next bandwagon? I wonder if Barca has a version of panty-wetters all worried about upsetting UEFA?
More importantly, has Lee Wallace been in touch with UEFA?}

Bang on Ed.

{Ed007's Note - And we've still got poppy season to come! :=D My Tena shares will be through THE roof (kerching)
Oh and flares at away games in winter! #NoPyroNoParty #TenaCSC

Here Here Ed. We wave the flag at every game and as I said before we shouldn't back down from those cowardly bullies at UEFA! The only thing I found a bit out of order was a video I saw of some Celtic fans confronting Hapoel supporters outside the stadium with regards to the Israel/ Palestine situation. Those people were only here to watch a football match, they're not politicians etc and they may not even support Israel's policies on Palestine in the first place. Having said that I felt the small display inside the ground was very civil and dignified.

{Ed007's Note - I've not seen that but that's bang out of order. I'm certainly not condoning that kind of behaviour. Can you imagine if UEFA came out with a rule that you can only fly flags of the country you're based in, how many would ditch the Irish flag and bad mouth supporters that fought against. How many modern fans would have accepted banning the Tricolour flying at Celtic Park when they tried that? I can't stand people coming out and telling others what to do and the pure knobby holier than though patter, who are they trying to impress?
A lot of people don't seem to understand what a protest is, you rarely ask permission because then it's not really a protest is it?
Watching on TV the protest was nothing more than a bit of flag waving, the majority of viewers would only have noticed it if they had been reading the papers, do you think casual viewers in England even noticed it or gave a toss?}

Stuff the panty wetters what a fantastic show of solidarity towards the besiged Palestinian people by the Celtic fans tonight it shows the strong Socialist principles at the roots of our club are still alive and well. God bless Palestine and its people keep fighting oppression.

18 Aug 2016 09:27:26
Bull. END OFF. Concentate on the football. If u want fight the Palestine cause then go over there n help them.

18 Aug 2016 09:30:54
It is a legitimate flag and recognised all around the world.
It is displayed at every game but because we play an Israeli team it's now offensive?
I have mixed feelings about politics and football (sport in general) but this was not a new action.
Why is it no one complained at our other games when it was flown? I don't recall seeing any headlines criticising it or any post on here having a go previously.
No doubt the authorities in Israel will be on the lookout for similar displays in the return game (and no doubt, a couple of flags will appear)

What a night ED just in :-D al be rough in the morning.
On the subject of the rags loving this, my mate txt me said there was a video takin of hapoel fans being confronted outside Central station, but said it was people with zombie tops on? You heard anything on this mate? He said the daily ranger is the tabloid who's caught onto it.

{Ed007's Note - I seen a video on Facebook of people with TRIFC fans waving Israel flags getting knocked out after confronting Celtic fans outside Central I think it was.}

18 Aug 2016 03:17:44
Don't stress Ed, people like that are just scared of authority.

Think about it, we get warned by UEFA about fines and threatened by the police of arrest. Over what? a flag? it's blackmail and it's fascist.

yet some of our fans seem to back this idea? absolute clowns.

In Palestine children are bombed on a regular basis, regular people forcibly removed from their homes. This is far more important than our footballs clubs stance with UEFA

I mean UEFA! the most corrupt governing body in sport outside boxing. Yet they have some of our coward fans scared.

We defied authority and I'm proud of them for it. Those complaining are just the ones who didn't want it before the match and they are butt hurt realising most of the stadium disagree.

18 Aug 2016 07:13:24
For me you go to the game to support your team. All of the fans bringing flags are allowed their opinions. However I'll bet most don't have clue what these flags stand for or represent. You will always have the village idiots that follow like sheep with no idea of what point the are actually trying to make. I'm not long on the site and its seems good to me with ED making the occasional post if required. Ed do you have any clues on who the last player will be? Brendan has constantly said he wants one more player in?

{Ed007's Note - I'll take that bet, £50 to charity? For every one person you find that was waving a flag and doesn't understand the situation I'll find 10 or even 20 that done it and do understand. Is that a deal?
What I think is more important is that people who didn't understand might actually decide to learn a bit about it after seeing so many Celtic fans protest, which can only help, wouldn't you agree?
Did the protest stop you from supporting your team, did it hinder the team's performance, was the match 'hijacked' and showed Celtic in a bad light like the press, TRIFC supporters and some of our own support wanted?
Celtic and the support are being praised for this all over the world - terrible that isn't it?}

18 Aug 2016 09:10:57
Just remember buddy it was me that introduced you to those Tena shares ;P

Just to let you know am moving into Swan Vestas for the pyro, firework season :D.

{Ed007's Note - Swan Vestas and asthma inhalers for kids are looking good - won't someone think of the children ;(

18 Aug 2016 09:19:32
Ed. Its not worth it mate. But i did like u managed to get a Lee Wallace is a grass jibe in there somewhere lol.
I said it the other day and u just reinforced it. There was no request by the club and no pre-warning by UEFA so as i said the other day "buisness as usual".
The only thing that's disappointing me today i'd that after a "7 goal thriller" us scoring 5 in Europe that some idiot comes on here, not to congratulate but to complain.

18 Aug 2016 09:32:51
Well said ed! Absolutely fantastic couple of posts their mate. totally spot on. brilliant! . bursting with pride this morning after last night at my fellow supporters, players and manager and having the feel good factor back at parkhead again. it was a marvellous performance that has truck fear into the zombies and scottish press as they seem to want to talk about anything but and make an issue from a flag that's been flied a thousand times before.

{Ed007's Note - Let the people sing.......

18 Aug 2016 12:56:31
Sparky your the one who is talking bull, you sound like one of they fascist pricks who support the govan bigots and revel in britains illegal occupation of Ireland. You probably also agreed with apartheid in South Africa and the segregation of Black people in America, its time you researched the attrocities israel is doing to the Palestinian people its disgusting and it was humbling to see our fans show solidarity with these people. I would gladly fight for their cause.
