A true supporter of Celtic (or any other club) will be well aware of the negative consequences of controversial behaviour. Yet for some reason there are people who think their personal feelings about religion or politics need to be spouted at Celtic Park.
Get it into your heads guys. CELTIC PARK IS A FOOTBALL GROUND, KEEP ALL YOUR OTHER BELIEFS AND FEELINGS FOR THE RIGHT TIME AND PLACE.
Some people would make ordinary decent fans ashamed by their narrow minded, stubborn and pigheaded attitude.
Whether it's Palestine, Timbuktu or Chinese Taipei you feel strongly about then show it somewhere else and stop being a feckin dick. You are an embarrassment to our club and yourselves.

Hail Hail.

{Ed007's Note - Irony?

'Some people would make ordinary decent fans ashamed by their narrow minded, stubborn and pigheaded attitude.'

Who are you to tell other people what they should do and wtf is a 'true supporter'? Is that #celticfamily code for clueless sanctimonious douchebag?
If politics have no place at Celtic Park explain the OBFA and why are there political adverts round grounds in Scotland?
And the Palestinian flag is flown at EVERY Celtic game, home and away - so why should this game be any different?
Remember there are people in Scotland who want the Irish tricolour banned from football grounds because it offends them.}
I'm more embarrased and ashamed that there's people like you folllowing Celtic - a PC panty wetter who thinks they have some God given right to tell others what they should do and what they should think.
Keep politics away from Celtic Park?

Guys, let's all count to 10 :0)

Everyone is entitled to there own opinions and part of that is the free form of expression afforded to us by our Western way of life. Regardless of whether its hate or love, we are only a hypocrite if we attempt to punish anyone who has different views to our own. That being said, if the Celtic FC football club requested that I as a fan did not do something in an attempt to help protect the club, then provided that request had no detrimental effect to myself, then I would be happy to oblige. What is saddening to me however is the clear amount of discontent i'm reading towards each other on here. We are all here for our love of Celtic FC, not because of religion or political view points. i'm sure there are other places where this can be fought over.

Personally I like hearing about us signing Ibrahimovic, schweinsteiger and Van Persie to our lovely blue bros. Its light hearted and good old fun. let's push the conversations back in that direction.

{Ed007's Note - He didn't give any opinion. All he done was tell other people what they should do according to him - the exact thing other supporters are speaking out against and have done for over 100 years.
Has the Cub mentioned anything about flying Palestinian flags? Have you seen people drunk or smoking? Swearing? Standing in seated areas? That's all things Celtic ask you not to do at EVERY match and are ignored by thousands, where's the panty wetters then?
If the Club receive any sanctions then it's about time they grew a set of balls and challenged UEFA, once again Celtic would be getting punished for things other clubs get away with every year.}

Football is the biggest sport in the world played in every country, how is it not the perfect platform to challenge things that are wrong in the world political or not.

15 Aug 2016 12:20:45
A bit harsh there Ed . coming from west belfast I for 1 support the Palestinian people and their struggle. think bestybhoy is just concerned about the sanctions the club could face if celtic park is used as a platform to condone all oppression around the world. although bestybhoy is harsh himself on the people who have expressed there unhappiness at the treatment of Palestinians. I don't think as fellow supporters we should be speaking aggressively to one another even if we have different views on things.

{Ed007's Note - I'm from Hamilton, although I don't know what that's got to do with anything, where's everyone else from?
So it's OK for Bestybhoy to call other fans 'dicks' and 'embarrassments to the club and themselves'? It's OK for him to tell other people, grown men, what they should do?
So, you can tell me why that's OK can you?
If you want to keep politics out of Celtic Park why not start with the boardroom or how about Besty starts telling supporters to stop singing about rebelling against the Crown at the start of games? We wouldn't want to offend anyone now, would we?
The good old #celticfamily - setting double standards since Twitter was invented.}

And that my friend is a reply! lol tea and biscuits anyone!

"Is that #celticfamily code for clueless sanctimonious douchebag? " Laugh of the Day.

& Amen, Ed007.

Couldn't agree more ed 👏.

15 Aug 2016 12:45:58
Aye, nice one Ed. You did yourself proud with that rant.
It's the idiots that have caused our club enough grief over the years by deliberately being controversial. Football is a sport, the rest of the bollox is not. The Irish flag is our heritage. It isn't flown in an antagonistic manner by the club but some fans do use it as such.
I'm not telling anyone what to do and it certainly isn't YOUR place or anyone else's to criticise me for saying what a lot of fans think.
Being 'embarrassed and ashamed' by me is something you're just going to have to live with I'm afraid :-)

{Ed007's Note - At least it's fine by you to fly the Irish flag (whew) I've got it now, it's OK to do things you agree with but nobody has to do anything you don't agree with. Have you got a list the rest of us can use as a guide?

'CELTIC PARK IS A FOOTBALL GROUND, KEEP ALL YOUR OTHER BELIEFS AND FEELINGS FOR THE RIGHT TIME AND PLACE.'

'Whether it's Palestine, Timbuktu or Chinese Taipei you feel strongly about then show it somewhere else and stop being a feckin dick'

That's two examples of you NOT telling people what to do is it?}

15 Aug 2016 12:46:32
Ed

I never said the club had issued a request. Was only illustrating intention should there be. I also refrained from making any kind of "siding" in my previous statement although I can see both your points of view. It was intended to remind everyone who reads it that, IMO, unless they are making a personal attack against someone then they are entitled to there opinion. Fly a flag, don't fly a flag; support green, support blue; read the bible, read the karan. IMO it shouldn't matter. Each to there own and all that

As far as the club goes again, I have not heard of or seen any requests, so why all the agro on here anyway. I have neither heard of or seen any warnings from UEFA so whey the concern there as well. Ed is correct, flags are flown all the time, everywhere we go with no indented antagonism or malice. Given the info we have at present I genuinely can't see why we just can't go about business as usual. Am I wrong?

{Ed007's Note - Spot on. This is being made an issue for one reason, to try and show our support in a bad light.}

15 Aug 2016 13:02:54
A was wondering how you hadn't yet waded in lol

Did you have a top night out on Saturday night watching a band or something and realise yesterday you were running low on the Tena ladies and refuse to pay petrol station prices for them Ed pmsl?

Is that the reason you kept quiet till today mate? -)

{Ed007's Note - I go to my mam's after Mass on a Sunday mate and she's got some family staying with her for Wednesday's game that arrived a day early so I was late getting home.}

15 Aug 2016 13:05:32
belfast celt, one of these days Ed is going to acknowledge the fact that others have valid opinions and that he isn't always right, although we may have to wait for some time.
Ed, you certainly have a tendency to aggressively spit out your dummy when you read something you don't like or don't agree with. That doesn't make you right or me wrong! :-)

{Ed007's Note - Man up and dry your eyes ya blouse. I'm taking a red neck for you here. A defeated man always resorts to personal abuse when shown up.
I actually haven't gave my opinion on it, all I said was you had no right to tell others what they should be doing. Which I am 100% correct on, so what did I get wrong?}

15 Aug 2016 13:34:04
The majority of fans don't want anything to do with controversy. They just want to support their club and watch football. Unfortunately there will always be an element of thrillseekers and those with a 'feck the rules we'll do what we want' attitude that cause the problems. They won't change either so the rest of us will just have to learn to shake our heads in disappointment. Unfortunately we're not really allowed to say anything about it because Ed doesn't like that bit :-)

{Ed007's Note - So now you're a fans spokesman? Who's this majority of fans you speak for?
You do realise it's people like you causing the controversy, why haven't you had a problem with the Palestinian flag being flown at EVERY game, home and away, for years? Is it because it's a Palestinian flag you don't like it?}

15 Aug 2016 13:52:38
Anything that involves your Ma's mate and mass is top notch in my eyes and if that is your routine even better (y)

{Ed007's Note - And you can't knock back the Sunday dinner. (yes)

15 Aug 2016 15:45:51
Bestbhoy. . think you have spotted something there that I certainly agree with. I understand completely the point you were trying to make and I don't think you deserved even half the beasting you got there. I got the same lately for suggesting in my opinion Scott Allan was classy. If Ed Bond don't like it you get chewed up. Thought he got personal too which he shouldn't. The sycophants turned up too. I defend your right to say what you think. Don't really think you were telling anyone what to do. like me you're tense about Wednesday and want the game to go well without distraction. And yes. UEFA will cane us. Not everyone cares about the CL. . BTW, just showing empathy here, not trying to fight your battles. You seem well capable but I don't agree with the treatment you got there.

{Ed007's Note - Oh diddums, did the bad man upset you? Grow up and stop being so childish. I wouldn't have 'chewed you up' if you hadn't been talking total garbage, deal with it or don't comment.}

15 Aug 2016 16:48:30
Lol. bang on what I expected. Ha ha. If your one thing it's predictable!

{Ed007's Note - I think the word you're looking for is consistent.}
