I've seen So many on here say something to the extent of "whatever Rodgers decision I'll put my faith in him" can I ask why? Yes we've made some exciting signings and spent a bit of money but what has he ever done in his managerial career to be so blindly followed by our fans? One good season in the epl with the best cf in the world and they bottled it. My point is if only our fans put this much belief behind RD who was obviously restricted compared to what BR has been. Imagine if it were ronny who got that result against red imps there'd have been a boycott.

Agree2 Disagree12

Bottom line is under the last 6 months of RD tenure it was by and large awful to endure, he struggled badly to change things on a regular basis sure he was short changed at the boardroom level, but him and him alone chucked it

It needed something new and we were never going to accept being short changed this the round as a Celtic fan for me this has helped him and by and large has hit the ground running

RD is away thanks for your time, all the best in your next job in Norway but the fact is BB had we not got someone of BR calibre in it would or could have been the BOARD that were boycotted that is why I was always confident they would push the boat out this time round 👍🍀.

So you are saying that a manager who may have been mediocre at his last club cannot succeed at his next? Man U must be cacking it now as Mourinho didn't exactly do well at Chelsea last season? For the first time in a while there is a real belief that Celtic can do well this season. That simply wasn't there during RD's reign and that was not just his fault either. The board went cheap with Ronni because there was no domestic challenge. Backfired spectacularly with our European campaigns though.
We need to give a new manager a chance, we have with every other one. (Even Barnes) !

Ronny deila never had plan b or c. What we have seen from rodgers is that he ain't afraid to change formations etc but i do agree with the we should trust him quote.

What is it with us Celtic fans at present? Every signing questioned. Every manager appointment questioned. Every managerial departure questioned. Every team selection questioned. Every contract extension questioned.

We live in an age of extremes. Such and such is dreadful and will never improve. Such and such is past it. Such and such is only interested in their own progress and profile.

What we have now is a little bit of hope. Hope that performances will improve. Hope that entertainment levels will improve. Hope that we will positively better in 6 months time compared to where we are now.

It's all positive. No guarantees but it beats where we were this time last year does it no and for that alone we should be thankful.

I can see where BB is coming from. It was interesting that a scrappy 2-1 win last week was a tactical masterclass where as last season a scrapoy 2-1 win would have been dire.

13 Aug 2016 18:09:07
Birminghambhoy what a pointless post. What had any of our previous managers done in their managerial careers before they came to us? Jock Stein, Billy McNeil, Davie Hay, Martin O'Neil, Gordon Strachan to name a few never had huge success before they came to us. If you have watched the team this season anybody can see there's a vast improvement in our style from the last 3 or 4 years and once everyones fit we are only going to get stronger.

13 Aug 2016 18:23:53
JT, RD would never have had that tactical change in him against Hearts IMO it would have ended up a draw.

13 Aug 2016 18:28:00
There are some 'fans' of our club who won't be pleased and won't stop whinging until our matchday line-up is as follows:

GOD

GOD-------GOD-------GOD

GOD---GOD---GOD---GOD---GOD

GOD---GOD

Manager: GOD

And even then they'll be complaining that they can't identify who is playing well and who isn't because they all have the same name and they look identical.

Hail Hail.

Besty but at least Timalloy could have a bet on Man of the match 😂👍.

13 Aug 2016 18:40:55
Man are you having a laugh, Martin oneill wasn't all that decorated till he came to us. I'm sure Brendan knows this is a very good chance and the choices he makes I'll stand by them, same as I did when mon and Lenny were here. Ktf.

13 Aug 2016 18:53:36
birminghamboy if you had been through as many bad seasons as I've witnessed you would be happy so far some of the years when i was younger jim out of the royal family would be a step up and i know the film all i'm saying is give the guy a chance he not a puppet like deila.

13 Aug 2016 18:58:21
I think we all could Jamie! :-) lol.

13 Aug 2016 19:01:55
You only need to listen to BR s interview after the hearts game, when he got asked something about preparing the players, and he said something about getting the players mindset tight, and compare Ronnies, praise him, praise him, gungho way of trying to get the team to play his way, Ronnie was many s thing, but he was never a competent manager.

13 Aug 2016 21:14:28
Besty some might say that team is non existent haha.

13 Aug 2016 21:24:01
Martin oneil wasn't decorated before he came here?
He won 2 league cups and got Leicester into Europe before celtic.

13 Aug 2016 22:24:16
Some Celtic fans have got carried away by the praise bestowed on Celtic supporters by UEFA and FIFA after Seville . No longer content on supporting the team some fans want to question every decision made by Manager and Board, no doubt some think they could do a better job in either position.

13 Aug 2016 23:25:36
Birminghambhoy i think the key point is he has the fans united, something that we have not seen in seasons. The reason for this is the team are getting results, certain players look revitalised and there is a high morale. I hold my hand up and say i overreacted calling for his head after Lincoln imps defeat, honestly thought the worse. He has changed club for the better in short space of time, things are going to continue to improve with that said he's got my backing.

14 Aug 2016 01:58:43
It's not being anti celtic doubting every single thing that we do now and challenging it. Some are worse than others but but we all have a point and a reason for it. Our club has a lot of ground to make up and for anyone to say we have made the right decisions in the last few years and backed them blindly is a muppet. By the time we all pack it in and snuff it we will all have spent 10s of thousands of pounds added up, buying tickets, pints, travelling even if it's taxis to your mates or a boozer!
If we are pish I will complain and if we are good I'll be top of the world for a few days. We are all sick in the head lol. Wouldn't swap it.

Pointless post Birminghambhoy. I think most of us put faith in deila also, as for lack of experience or trophies. Rodgers has worked his way up from Chelsea youth development to reading, Watford, Swansea, to Liverpool, and now celtic, all in a relatively short space of time. br will bring trophies to parkhead. Since when is it a crime to put blind faith in a manager? We do it with every management appointment! that's why were the best fans in the world laddie hh.
