There's a lot of people on this page that spend to much time having a go at others for asking questions rather than having a debate or giving an answer. Seems like our fan base at the moment continually blames the board, there is no evidence as of yet that they're not backing BR with plenty money. Brendan and Chris both said that they will take there time and choose the players they want! Hear complaints about rushing signings and then hear complaints about not bringing in enough signings. Give it time. Nothing's written in stone.

Rush into signings? Rodgers has been in the job for over two months so surely that's enough time to strengthen the areas that obviously need bolstered i. e. central defence, right back, midfield Lubo type playmaker, a target man striker and keeper. As for the board can you not see how their penny pinching has held us back for years? Everyone else can!

It's not like taking over a second hand car lot, B R may be here 2 months but the players are only back from their break for a month and have only played 2 competitive games .
Really we bought numerous players in the 2015 winter and summer and winter 2016 windows and did we improve much . We are better targeting the positions most in need &! buying the best quality we can .
If we can't beat Astana with the players we have, buying a couple players on dead- line day wouldn't make any difference .
B R seems to trust English based players and they are certainly not match fit.

A Lubo type playmaker. Those guys are mega money. Lubo was a once in a lift time find at that money.

Tbf lubo was 33 when he came here if we had tried to sign him at 26 we would have had no chance.

Thats because we signed dross old bhoy. its time we upped the quality of the players we bring in, two or three players of top drawer quality would be enough to transform us into a better all round team even if we need to spend 5m each on these players, in the long run it will save us money as we wouldn't need to buy that many players in the next couple of windows because the added quality would make us the finished article. And for Kev i'm sure there are some playmakers out there we wouldn't need to bust the bank for.

I agree with the part about us all ripping into each other rather than properly debating topics I think most of us are guilty of it but not the rest of the original post! It's like pirhanas attacking snidely when they don't agree.

Lubo was a cheap buy that very few people in our support knew he turned out good for us which is great but let's not distort his playing career he wasn't setting France alight at any point in his career. We may not have signed him in his mid twenties but I doubt it was because of his value.

It was dr jo who signed him because he knew him from national set up or he would never have been with us thank fook for the good doc.

Lubo was a top player in France, Marseilles tried to sign him when they were the best team in the country but he decided to stay with his club.

jamesbhoy that was exactly what I was trying to say, we must buy quality to cover our weakest positions, not quantity hoping to patch over weak points all over the place .
