We always seem to take an age when we are in negotiations to sign anyone, i know there are legalities and stumbling blocks during these deals but even going back years we seem to drag the talks out for days.

Let's be realistic, we should be able to see off Red Imps comfortably with a second string team never mind any new recruits.

Guys there is no rush for the Gibraltar game, we should be able to win both ties with existing players on the books just now. Then make sure we sign our targets for the next and more difficult qualifier.
As to Duffy and Toure, I heard that Duffy was on holiday after the Euros, so that could explain him.
As for Toure, I am not bothered if he signs or not, apparently he is looking for a big pay day, for a player already a millionaire from his time in England, he just seems another mercenary looking at a fast buck, if this is his attitude, do not touch with a bargepole.

I was talking about our transfer negotiations in general i'm not talking about signings for this tie my school team could beat this Gibraltar mob and we are all in our late fourties now lol.

Surely it is better getting guys in early and settled in at the beginning of pre-season? The main problem last year was the uncertainty at centre back, VVD wanted away and Denayer wasn't replaced. BR has already said he wants a centre half in and we are in a similar position to last season with Eric the only one I would trust.

Cheers Ed, i'm sure you, ll keep us posted, getting close tho.

{Ed007's Note - I'll do my best.}

Timalloy. Agree with most things u said m8, but let's be real, yes Toure is looking for (probably) his last contract and for it to benefit him. Let's face it, he would add quality to our squad, 1 of liverpools most consistent performers last season, I would take him no problem regardless if he's looking for a wee bit extra money, Celtic are past that wage cap stage now and Rogers seems to have faith in him, so let's just be happy by the fact that another good player might sign for us. Let's get behind any guy that comes in, because that's what we are all about. Standing beside each other shoulder to shoulder and letting them know that we are the dominant/best/most established team in Scotland. Agree with most things u post though m8

I think one of the things R D did well last season was keep VVD with us until our European fate was known but it didn't matter what R D did last season too many Celtic fans had written him off.
