Would bring back Adam Matthews in q second.

It was a big loss especially in Europe. We were a far more solid unit on the right with lustig and matthews overlapping. With janko not kicking a ball this season it really showed not having that extra player to rotate.
How have his injuries been since he left us?

Has he played since he left? I was glad when we sold him for the simple fact he was ways injured brilliant player when fit though.

Did he not get loaned out last season to one of the Bristol teams not sure which one tho.

He played the first game of the season for Sunderland then done his ankle in shortly afterwards.
Loaned to Bristol City in March and played 9 games.
I would have him back, at least we know what he's capable of on his day.

Tellingly didn't make the Wales Squad yesterday, but I thought we were daft to let him go; haven't been the same on the right since. Versatile too. Ledley another one.

Mathews is far to injury prone, we've enough defenders who fall into that category! Lol. liked him when he was injury free and fit but wouldn't take a chance with him! Defo need cover in at RB but, by all accounts janko wants back down south and I was never convinced by fisher. with lustig away with Sweden its to big a gamble to not get cover in there!

Not desperate to have old players back and realise fitness has been major issue but he is only 24 and if he could put injuries behind him would be an asset. Bit harsh to compare him to Derk.

I know Davie, joking aside I actually would take Matthews back IF he could stay injury free. He should never have left though.

It's a major if but reckon him and Roberts could tear that right flank up on overlap if he was fit. In fact KT Jozo Erik and a fit Matthews would be a solid 4-yet another big if on Jozo's fitness so far.

new/ old players is irrelevant, what is relevant is good players. I don't care if it's mathews or some new RB aslong as whoever comes in is better than what we have. Mathews certainly fits that bill and injuries aside we know what he is capable of whereas a new signing has the mystery but might be a dud, so you have to weigh it up and scout players properly before signing them which takes time. IMO we need to start looking higher than Mathews and the players we are currently linked with (Chelsea youth? ) and start signing the quality we need to progress as a club.

He can't defend. doesn't attempt to stop crosses going into the box. Maribor at hime prime example. Also sure he was at fault at loosing the winner against killie in the cup final. Like him going forward though.

There are hundreds if not thousands of players for every position, if a player spends 2/ 3 seasons with us and then leaves, I wouldn't have him back . Having been here and done hiss best ( we wouldn't want him if he hadn't ) if he hadn't realised how lucky he is we shouldn't give him another chance .
At the end of the day how many have returned and did well. ?
