How many people think Gordon should be number one next season? Really not too sure myself but would prioritise outfield players over replacing him. A decent strike partner/ cover if playing one up for LG would be top of my list (if we could nail that it would be amazing, years since we've had 2 decent strikers. Lustig used to be a great RB and still a good player but fmdefinitely an area, sham Janko didn't work out. Wondering if we already have a decent left wiger if GMS can step up. Mulgrew is a player who has wound me up for a fair while and I think a new deal for him is a bigger gamble than sticking with Gordon in sticks. ST RB, LW and RCB the areas it think we really need. A 15 mill wise spend on them could see us make up some lost ground.

There are far weaker positions in our team than the goalkeeper. Could we strengthen that position? Probably, but as you say I wouldn't say its a priority.

Craig Gordon had a few bad early season moments in the European campaign especially but had a pretty solid last half of the season. I wouldn't change him because he has just went through the season relatively uninjured so in my eyes had proved his fitness. People who want Logan Bailly installed as the number one are in my opinion absolutely bonkers. From what I saw he is a carbon copy of Zauluska but with a pony tail.

I would like to think we will be signing better players than LG and not just signing cover for him. He has had a very good season in the league, but we need to be looking better than him though if we want to make any kind of mark on the European stage. I want to be at a stage when LG is the back up for our strikers and not the main man.

I wouldn't prioritise outfield players necessarily. I mean, there are positions I'd go for first but the GK is just as important, if not more. It can't be too easy playing infront of CG with some of the horror shows he's had. He offers little assurance to the back line and his reluctance to command his area and come off his line leaves defenders in no mans land. Said in a thread down the page, he's no where near our last keeper, and doesn't have potential to be. A new GK, experienced CB and a ST/ WF are my 3 main areas.

Fair point Joe. Calls for Bailly as no one literally have no basis: we have keeper who the jury is out on but has had some amazing performances and we have a guy who's gametime is so limited nothing but the fact that he is Belgium can be used as evidence. Definitely focus on the outfield, front and back.

I have my doubts about Gordon, he seems to be a little mistak prone in big matches I know less about Bailly and many regard him as similar to Zaulluska, I don't see how we couldn't as Bailly has been used just as seldom as his predecessor and so it's no wonder that people compare them .

Signing better than L G would be a great idea only beaten by picking our best 11 and buying better than each of them . I don't think either will happen and I will settle for two or three good players in areas that Brendan Rodgers sees us weak . let's hope that B R can introduce three or four youngsters this year and they make a great impact.

Its a strange situation we are in where we are overloaded with midfielders yet that's by far our weakest area of the team, which is pretty crazy actually! GK/ Defence is good with everyone fit, attack is strong if you include Roberts as an attacker alongside Griffiths. But our midfield was shocking last season, both individually and collectively. Rogic the only player who gets pass marks for his efforts.

CG needs competition and that's not coming from baily, however I would be content with CG for next season, if the money is spent on the right players instead.

I like Roberts but I am concerned he may turn into a one trick pony, cut in on the left and shoot.
Long may this continue if he continues to score, but I would imagine the opposition will double team and figure him out, however his feet are quick so bring it on!

For me I would spend the lot on a striker and lift the whole stadium. Don't know who but definitely not some dross like fletcher.

JimTim you say it must be bad playing infront of GC, but what about the defence that he has been playing behind? Half the season the defence has been in turmoil and it is no fluke that he has steadied himself and really not put a foot wrong since Svievchenko came through! You can be one of the best GKs in the world but if your defence is constantly leaving you exposed you are not going to come out smelling of roses.

Fair-ish point Tompo. The errors I'm referring to are the ones which can't really be pinned to anybody other than CG. It's not really a defenders fault when you flap at a basic ball or can't get off your line quick enough. All GKs have jobs to do. He hasn't put a foot wrong since a lot of pressure lifted from being out of cup football more like. He's a liability.

I reckon get big Jozo and Erik playing together and you will see a lot better keeper in CG. May be wrong but was thinking who we could potentially get to replace him, but on his day I think he is as good, if not better as anyone we could hope for. Hopefully we will see more consisticy this season or else I'll put my hands up Jim! From what I've seen of Bailey would be more interested in seeing Fasan if CG needs a rest.
