Rolling contract, The same as what Lenny and Ronny had. I will give PL credit for these type of contracts it protects the Club. What if he signs a 4 year contract and is awful, We sack him and have to pay 3 years worth. For me rolling contract suits everyone don't look too much into it if Brendan is successful why wouldn't he want to stay for 10 in a row and a crack at the Champions League.

Celtic have been using rolling contracts since Martin oneill have they not??

More than likely Kev.

24 May 2016 11:29:57
Aye kev. O'Neil was definitely on a years rolling contract he was the first as far as I can remember. It suits both parties.

Thought that so what's the problem with Rogers being on one then?

24 May 2016 12:19:12
Kev83 it's obviously a positive if we don't need to pay a load of money to get rid but some folk don't like the idea of the manager being able to just say cheerio if he has a decent season and then gets offered another job.

{Ed007's Note - We'd need to pay him a years salary (and possibly bonuses) if we got rid of him and if he resigns he needs to give a years notice or lose his pay-off.}

I knew about the one year pay off Ed but didn't realise it worked in our favour the other way. So essentially it's like a provisional 2 year deal in a way?

{Ed007's Note - Yes mate.}

I like the idea of a one year rolling contract and think many clubs use it with their manager.
I thought MO'N was initially on a 3 yr contract and I remember at the time that I thought it was very short as three years I felt, at that time was hardly long enough to sort the club out for the reasonably short term future .
Now too many people seem to think.3 months is a long time for any manager to get it sorted.

He was old bhoy but when he signed his second contract it change to a rolling one.

Yes Kev83 that's the way I saw it . Peter Lawwell seems to have introduced the rolling contract to Celtic.
