After looking at the club statement again it defo looks like a dig at the media rather than someting to lower our expectations. I was worried at first but now i'm confident we can get this over the line with Rodgers. HH.

Hope we don't get Rodgers, liked what Collins said in the paper today about Hughes, think a lot of people want Rodgers because he'Irish and because he's "glamarous", not because he's any good as a manager.

If Rodgers gets a long liucrative contract, and then it all goes belly up a la Liverpool, after a couple of years, will it be Celtic paying him £10million to walk away.

I don't see the hype for rogers his teams before Liverpool lost as many as they won . no trophies either . losing on average a goal a game. at liverpool he spent 292 million and won nothing even with the on fire suarez. . could he handle spl yez europe with little money? . as much as I like big hughes. It's the same for him spl yes europe? although as you say he's a better candidate than most mentioned.

Can't believe that people would fancy John Hughes over BR! Rodgers done a good job with Swansea and started off really well with Liverpool! They started struggling when Suarez left but who wouldn't! It takes time to get over losing a player like that! We're still trying to get over henrik lol. as much as I like big yogi and feel he's done a cracking job with ICT I just feel after Ronny we need someone who will inspire us and lift the place. which IMO Rodgers would do! It will be a real coup if we tempt him to come, I don't know how u can't be excited about the prospect of him coming in.

Whoever we end up with will never please everyone as I remember big Jock having his critics and doubters back in the day - even with his reputation and record.
I just hope we get someone to sort out that dressing room, ditch the dross and malcontents, then replace a few with the experience class and quality associated with Celtic.
The Sevco media are running scared we appoint someone to put bread-boy in the shade and we shouldn't disappoint.
This is a great opportunity for DD and PL to get it right after four years of complacency and treading water with trophies slipping through our fingers and attendances falling.

DRB, this Europe talk is a total bum steer because who, of the candidates we are genuinely looking at, does have European experience?
Or best results in Europe (post Jock) were under Strachan; I don't think he had managed in Europe before, or has since.
As for Rodgers, check out his Goals On Sunday appearance - it's really quite interesting as he talks about how the transfers work, especially in reference to Balotelli and Sanchez.

Didn't know that ed. did they not trust his judgement or is that the norm for Liverpool? . so we can expect another half dozen dud strikers if he isn't in the re ruitment loop and it's left to pl and park.

I know DRB. My point was that the only way to prove you can operate in that sphere, would be to have experience in said sphere.
