We had to win today, Motherwell were really woeful, let us enjoy the moment, but also let us wash away the absolute disgrace that the last 2 seasons have done our club, we should begin today to rebuild our European stature, good bye RD, you were full Elequent phrases and BS, but you won 2 titles of which we are grateful, I believe that there was mayhem in the dressing room for more than a season and lots of players downed tools, disgrace on them, but should they all get a clean sheet and start again? The CEO has done a fantastic job in the commercial mgt of the club, but has contributed zero in maintaining the culture, ethos and the respect that CFC has been held in world football, he has managed the small picture and failed to see the big one, the major shareholder, who I believe loves CFC has been guilty of complacency and lack of due care and attention, I hope he has now turned the corner, and will give the club the care, attention, and finance it deserves.

Malika20 he was better than that thug Lennon.

15 May 2016 19:39:49
That's all fair Malika, but I think Ronny will have gotten some good changes behind the scenes in place and some good foundations which, if nurtured will help us, well, forever really. RD was brought in to rebuild, from the youths through, and generally get our coaching, training, nutrition and sports science up to speed. Tierney is a great example, and the promise of seeing Nesbitt a bit more next term, seeing a youngest ever celt today play and score. RD has been here two seasons, which is not enough time to really reap the benefits, and I'll not hear otherwise, but hopefully a conveyor is up and running now and allowed to continue. Mixed with the correct investment, RD may have actually left a bit more of a legacy than people might think.

Are you sure you don't have any underlying hatred of Lennon dn30?

15 May 2016 20:32:07
Spot on. I think a few players should also hang their heads in shame as they did not commit to what RD was trying to do. That said, RD was not ready for such a huge step up.

15 May 2016 21:34:52
Jim and Tiny have to agree, although we as fans don't always appreciate the hard work that goes on behind the scenes it's well known as too how much hard work RD put in on youths and developing players I think we will regret not sticking with RD he's tried to change the entire mindset of the club and for the better he has probably done it all too quick but the intentions were there. Alex F had a bad first few seasons at Manchester and look how that turned out.

JimTim agree completely been reading for a while n my 1st post here people don't see or hear about the good work Rd has put in behind the scenes regards youth diet training n many other benefits all the best teams already have in place and take for granted. The Celtic job Rd inherited was a long term project, football isn't, to me anyway, about overnight success or for being in the champions league just so folk can say they were. I'm like a few posters on here I prefer winning trophies and celebrated today's title win like it was our first, so did my wee Bhoy who loved it and I'm the same any time Celtic win the league or cups as I can remember going years winning nothing and my first major trophy memory was the Pierre 1 nil final. For me we have missed a trick with Rd leaving, this was a job that would cover the same build time as Rd did at stromsgodset, and we would see the benefits in the longer term while still winning trophies, Rd was clearly cheated out of a treble and again this season never a red 4 boyata against RC which cost us that n against sevco we had more than enuff chances 2 win it, on another day Roberts scores n we go on n win 3 or 4 nil. So as Rd always says, n he is spot on, football is all about small details, and these small details like a man sent off, a blatant handball n redcard or an open goal do change the course of a game, even course of a season. Rd has delivered 3 trophies in 2 seasons n has us at 5 in a row n i'm certain he would easily take us to 10 n i'd defo wager a treble in there somewhere add to that the progress being made through getting youth and first team getting to be 24 hour athletes, this is the modern day footballer and I'm gutted that people have went along with the mssm and their attacks on our manager, maybe if he was Celtic minded people would have been outraged and backed him but for me 100% backing from day 1 till now. Celtic supporters back their team and manager 100% and I don't feel enough have done so.
On the game today, good slick play and looked solid all over, Roberts will b a big player for us n I hope Johansen stays gives the team so much n when others follow suit n press in numbers we inevitably put the other team under pressure and we get the ball back. Youth has and would have been given more of a chance under Rd and I hope the work in place progresses as it would have. Thanks for the trophies Rd hail hail big man.

Well done DN you managed it again.

15 May 2016 22:07:02
Tinytim I agree with u as well although not about the job being too big, as I don't believe it was. I feel the factors placed on Rd, like KC getting a new contract even though he's a waste of a Jersey n a snake and his little clique, as well as signings being forced upon him n players sold without him knowing didn't help, however he still delivered 3 trophies in 2 seasons n so nearly 5 or 6.

But as I posted before we had to think longer term an to be honest we still do need to, as in youth, sports science, diet, training and actually building the tools to move the club on, the Germans did it, the Dutch too, sometimes you need 2 build to reap the rewards but we have too many part timers, panty wetters, n Facebook brigaders/ Twatters who don't understand football in those terms.

Jim1972 nah mate. i'm quite open about my hatred towards cowards who threaten women.

16 May 2016 00:05:26
And so history is already being rewritten, our grandchildren will be told that Ronnie was the second best manager to Jock Stein, all the young talent that the thug Lennonhad started to develop would never had matured into the stars that they became unless Ronnie, praise be his name, hadn't taken them under his wing.

16 May 2016 00:39:59
Well what is he then Aindoh? Obviously you think he is a hero for his antics which makes me think you do the same. By the way, makes my day getting a reaction out you everytime i post. Funny as hell winding you up 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣.

16 May 2016 01:10:32
Tell the truth DN30, king lenny turned u down for an autograph.

Ur " in Delia we trust " didn't last long.

16 May 2016 09:12:31
Welcome Bigshaw and Hail Hail to everything you've said here.

Aindoh can you stop trolling and be sensible just once? Nobody is saying what you're suggesting re Big Jock. Any forward thinking manager would not have been happy with the situation our club was in, not just RD.

Do you not agree that fitness, nutrition and sports science have a huge part to play? Do you think it's right that young players were going to lower league clubs and being found out for their fitness? Do you you not thing generally, for a club that collects so many youth trophies that not enough young players were breaking through?

16 May 2016 16:01:35
DaBhoyBhoy Deila was a far better manager than Lennon. Never had chance to appoint his own team or transfers. Genuinely feel sorry for him.

16 May 2016 17:55:05
Cheers JimTim I'm lost as to the attitude of some Celtic fans, the whole of rd's tenure was a point scoring exercise with some and people are entitled to their opinion but I do feel too many have been swayed by the smsm as well as some sort of myth that trebles happen all the time, that not playing KC was a bad idea (great decision by Rd) , that we have some divine right to trophies and champions league riches, that it's OK 2 boo your own players and you make a mistake that's you getting it from the boo boys n that the cold firm still exists. Complete nonsense Rd has done more 4 the club than people either realise or will give credit 4 n has been a better manager 4 us than Lennon ever was, all with a dip in player quality and no real backing or help from the board n some in the dressing room, all of who'm should be ashamed. By the way I was a Lennon fan b4 the trolls come on 2 get me haha dn30 is spot on about Lennon, Rd 4 me all day hail hail just hope the new manager ensures the good work, that funnily enough you never hear about in the smsm, continues and the youth is brought through as others have posted there's plenty promising players and thatshould be our future mixed with good experience as well as a few bigger players, even bosmans and as ed007 said before just increase the wage structure for 1 or 2 top additions and the benefits would be there, more bums on seats, better chance in Europe, total dominance in Scotland although either or 10 in a row here we go.
