Who we talking about here guys.

{Ed007's Note - The first post is probably aimed at Timalloy and his tips but DN30 must have thought it was about Lawwell.}

Ed007 your right mate. Thought it was regarding Lawwell.

Five in a row imminent
The Celtic way
Lennoxtown
Balanced books in the worst period of Scottish football

It's not all bad, let's hope someone comes in with an ambition for the team.
I remover the abuse wee Ferguson used to get and now people realise his worth.
So let's not get on our high horse, I wouldn't be upset with a change either, but pistol Pete has done a lot for this club (and received by the way)

Island celt:

1. Balanced books by selling best players and replacing with substandard class of player.

2. Five in a row was always a certainty at start of season, no matter how bad we play due to no real challengers.

3. Drop in attendances and season ticket sales which means loss of revenue.

4. Current manager and past 2 appointments have had us all divided and bickering amongst ourselves.

5. Cutting corners with cheap options has ultimately cost club £80m in past 6 seasons due to failure to back manager (s) resulting in not qualifying for CL.

6. Sanctioned transfers of some of the worst players to wear the hoops like bangura, pukki, balde, juarez, boerigter and ultimately substantial loss on these crackers.

7. Wanyama, Forster and Van Dijk covered these losses meaning an average transfer revenue of £2.5m profit each season. Not that great is it?

8. John Park

Sunderland please pull out all the stops to get him.

Ouch ED007 that comment hurt, I'll have you know people on here actually made money from my tips this weekend (yes I'll say it for you a first time for everything lol)

{Ed007's Note - You're going to 'dine out' on that for years on here aren't you?}

11 Apr 2016 19:38:51
Can't argue with most of that DN30; however, I can't recall a chief exec [or similar grade] that actually helped make a positive impact on the playing side or have an empathy with supporters concerns and aspirations and I suspect they would bring bring in another warmer?

11 Apr 2016 20:54:53
You raise a good point Jungle Jim. To be honest PL has been here 13 years. Sometimes a change with someone who has fresh ideas is a good thing.

DN30
Are you saying he's done nothing? I remember when arsenal were sniffing around him and everyone was worried he'd go!
I agree with many of your points, but let's look forward; we have the stadium and the training facilities and we are a world wide name.
As I said if he goes I'll welcome a change in approach, but the starting point will be better for any incoming CEO

I've posted before stating I do not agree with the transfer policy and the fans are split on the manager - personally I would want the manager to have the final word on all in's/ outs, a general Manager doesn't always work - jock brown was Fergus man and he was hated at the time (fergus and brown) but now we realise the benefits.
To say lawell has done nothing is incorrect, you may not agree with it, but I believe he has.
It's the wasteful expenditure on transfers that gripes me the most, buy the best you can afford at the times it will pay off.

I suppose the P L knockers have all been successful CEO at top SPL teams in the past so they know exactly the criteria for a successful CEO .
Surely they are not like myself not fully aware of the standards of what a good CEO should achieve . I suppose we can rely on what the MSSM tell us .
Should we have for decades outspent Rangers as many fans use to shout and write about or should we try to live within our means most of the time . Or has the decisions on income / expenditure nothing to do with the CEO whose sole responsibility is to obey the monetary limits set by board .
I reckon most of us if honest don't know exactly a CEO's responsibility is.

11 Apr 2016 21:42:51
Island Celt did I say he's done nothing? What I have illustrated of late is his major failings. Crucial repeated failings that have turned club in wrong direction.

11 Apr 2016 22:17:55
old boy no one is claiming to have all or any knowledge of what a CEO is or does, however he has consistently wasted money on complete duds. He has balanced the books fantastically looking at it as a business, he has downsized us to go with the current financial situation which is fine. But had he used the money available better we could have generated more funds (from champions league) which would give us more money to then balance the books without severely affecting the playing squad. Like I said I'm no expert but had we competed better in Europe it would raise our coefficient rating, which generates more income for Scottish football as a whole as we would have better chances for other teams to make it in, which would give them more income as well and if everyone else improves the standard of our game raises which gives us even more income due to interest and TV deals. I could be talking garbage here as I don't know the true situation but surely making us a worse team and destroying our global image and putting fans off is a completely suicidal policy for any club.

11 Apr 2016 22:20:46
Who Dn30 is responsible for repeated failings .
Does Laweell set the financial limits and works within them .
Or is his hands tied by the Board setting limits which results in him having to take the decisions he has .
I don't think we know this Dn30.
