As you all know I no great fan of Ronny but I not on to have a go (for a change lol) , I am merely going to ask the question and let you decide.
For me for us to qualify for CL and to progress we have to play above ourselves not just return to form but better than that.
Games like AC Milan Barcelona Uefa Cup run we took on the best out there and played above ourselves.
So the question is Ronny in your opinion the man to do this.

Agree0 Disagree1

The current celtic team isn't good enough to compete at that level money needs to be spent.

21 Mar 2016 19:43:04
In a word rayman NO! I was on the other day sayin I'll get behind the team until the end of the season and that won't change! But let's not kid ourselves on because that performance on Saturday was abysmal! Some players in that team have downed tools for the manager! Brown commons lustig bitton being just a few! Ronnie as I've said before is not the man to take our club forward! And this he's a builder of teams is garbage to! Only 2 of 11 players that started are his signings! The whole club are in a massive slump right now and there must be a change in the summer! And the celebrating at the end of the match by the manager was cringeworthy to put it mildly.

21 Mar 2016 19:46:54
Will he be given a free reign and be given money? . If not then imo it's not his fault alone . again the board will have let us down.

21 Mar 2016 19:58:48
why would you say it was cringe worthy did you not celebrate? I know I did doesn't matter to me it was lowly Kilmarnock? not a jot always enjoy getting one over on rangers lite but even better when they think they were going to get a point out of it and the manager has a lot more invested than i do was it a good performance? no and I think a lot of players are not giving their all I noticed our very own captain strolling around like it was a Sunday pub league game does he already know he is getting his jotter's?

21 Mar 2016 20:19:47
Regarding the players you've mentioned who've 'downed tools', here's a thought.
If Ronnie does go we will be left with these players. I cannot see a team that relys on; brown, lustig, commons and bitton (although on his day I rate him) as inspiring any team to great heights, or fear in the opposition.
I think the first three mentioned are past there best, although I have enjoyed many a game with them in the side, any player who does not give it all On the park should be ashamed of themselves.
I'll never forgive commons for his performance when substituted this year. Bag and ball spring to mind.

I don't think he has the nous, charisma or experience to make any impact on the European front - as we have witnessed for two years.
I know Neil Lennon had little experience, when he managed the result of his life at home to Barca, but the gods were with us that night and it was part of our birthday celebration - which always brings a bit of magic and memorable achievement.
The expectation, set-up and the standard of player has fallen steadily for too many years for any manager to do anything of note in Europe under our current situation.
We would need a clear-out of management, past-it and never-will-be players at the end of this season, for us to regain any reputation and status we enjoyed in previous years and maybe the arrival of Sevco will jump-start Lawell back to reality? - There goes a pig flying past the squinty bridge.

21 Mar 2016 20:31:11
I don't agree that we don't have the players to qualify for the CL. My opinion is that if the team could go back to performing the way they did in the second half of last season, then there is a great chance of qualifying.

However, I do have concerns, which are namely:

1. Can we replicate that form so early in the season?
2. Will Ronnie adapt the way we play (especially for away fixtures) to get the results?

21 Mar 2016 20:56:36
BigD what the hell has sevco got to do with it? And yes I celebrated the goal! But that's were it ended! Yes I'm glad we got 3 points but it doesn't mask the fact that once again the performance was shocking! And it no way should it warrant him jumpin about like that at the end! And rab mac the answer to question 2 is no! Ronnie has proved time and time again that he cannot or will not adapt! Another crack at Europe will just prove what most of us know! And that's Ronnie and his management team will constantly fail when it comes to that stage! Be it CL or EL football! I just do not see the point in giving him that chance to prove what we all know!

21 Mar 2016 21:10:51
Your manager celebrated a goal? shocking behaviour! you found it cringe worthy total 💩💩 the guy just got a valuable 3 points on the board if he just sat there u would probably moan at that too get a life a dare say if it was Martin oneil or the ginger 1 jumping about u would have been nearlly wetting yourself in excitement.

21 Mar 2016 21:41:17
If Ronny is in charge next season, I can't see how we will improve.
Every time a team organizes themselves against us we really struggle to break them down, you expect this playing against top teams, but now we're even struggling to break down teams like Kilmarnock. It's not as if we're missing lots of chances, we are hardly creating any.
I personally believe Ronny is out of his depth, I think our club is too big for him, and what's more I think the players think that as well.
When Ronny took the job he couldn't bring his own backroom staff, he seems to have agreed to having no say in what players are brought to the club, and according to what people on here have been saying he's even told what players to pick in the team, how can you really expect players to respond to someone who looks as weak as that.
Most coaches wouldn't work under these conditions, the fact that Ronny seems to accept any restrictions put on him just makes him look weak.
I can't see what will be any different next season, he's not going to have his own backroom staff, he's still going to have the players bought for him, and he'll still be told what players to put in the team, why are players suddenly going to respond to him then, when they are not responding now? .
I think we badly need a strong manager who can cut through to the players and gain their respect, it doesn't look from what I've seen that Ronny is capable of doing it.

21 Mar 2016 21:43:51
Ryan! The day I give a toss about your opinion is the day that we'll all believe that your 2nd tier outfit is still the same club! This is the Scottish Premiership and Europe we're talking about here, none of which your club has ever participated in! So maybe if yous do happen to play in either I mite pay attention to u! Then again maybe not!

21 Mar 2016 22:01:48
That's it get all your anger out on me a can handle it and back yer manager he's got the league sorted for u the mans doing well instead you want to bitch about him celebrating a goal that's probably just clinched the title sort yourself out man call yourself a fan.

21 Mar 2016 22:23:16
Nothing to do with anger. its to do with the fact that taking advise about my club from a sevconian ain't ever going to happen! And your thoughts on our games and title winning goals mean bugger all to me! I'll take what any Celtic fan on here has got to say, I mite disagree but I will certainly won't take advise about supporting a manager and my club from one of your mob!

21 Mar 2016 22:33:13
Just to be clear you don't want any advice?

21 Mar 2016 23:20:57
no u could give me a bit of advise, you could advice me on what it's like to be playin in Scotland's lower leagues and what it's like to win the petrofact cup? No wait a minute, u can't even advice me on that! Well the 2nd part anyway! Maybe u'll finally get that big win against the mighty Peterhead! Then again maybe not!

22 Mar 2016 02:54:00
umm beav what u on about sevco i said rangers lite i. e kilmarnock also your allowed to celebrate the goal but the manager who everyone and their dog has been moaning about and is under huge pressure is not geez peace.

22 Mar 2016 07:20:30
My apologises bigD never noticed that bit. and I never said he wasn't allowed to celebrate a goal! It was the performance at the end of the game I've got a problem with! Realise that we've just played utter garbage and we got out of jail! Is that what we're runnin about celebrating now, scraping by a relegation threatened Kilmarnock! Not for me mate!

23 Mar 2016 21:34:35
Beav81 It's ok for you to sit in your living room watching a box in the corner and gave a cool assessment of R D's celebration on Saturday . Ronny was among Celtic fans that spent their £20 to go to watch the match . Those fans were delighted to partake in his celebration and Ronny was saying thank you.

It wasn't for the forum posters who have competed with the SMSM all season to destroy R D and his team.
