The Cup Semi Final against Rangers2012 is an idea opportunity for players to drive themselves harder in training and matches. Not only should this help R D to find a more consistent and form team but also it should help the fans to continue to support and encourage the team as they did yesterday against Morton . The cheers and encourage brought a visible improvement in all the players . If We have that up to and including the Rangers 2012 match we won't be beaten.

In the world I live in, if your paid to do a job, you do it, if you can't you get effin sacked. You make high paid professionals sound like petulant five year olds. Stop making excuses, At some point somebody at our club has to take responsibility! I don't require a pat on the back to do what I'm paid to do, so if players can't do what's expected, get rid. You really have taken the term apologist to another level. If we don't beat this second tier outfit, everyone involved should be shown the door!

I'm sure working in the local chippy is very different from being a footballer at a professional football club.

08 Mar 2016 09:43:34
Spot on chassboy, oldbhoy and rabmac you better watch the local chippy doesn't serve ostrich burgers 🍔 , or you two could be in danger.

One person used the word Ostrich, then the rest followed suit. So in the spirit of (whomever had the) word of the day toilet paper, may I suggest next weeks word as Lemmings, or if that's too much, plain old sheep.

08 Mar 2016 17:32:08
No ostrich is far more apt, while sheep and lemmings follow each other no matter what is in front of them, an ostrich knowing what's going on just sticks it's head in the ground, hoping it will all go away, without actually doing anything about the problem.

08 Mar 2016 17:57:41
Chasabhoy, if you burn the chips it's pretty obvious u r not a good friar and u will be given your cards . Why thousands go to football matches is because football is a game of opinions and one man's opinion is as worthy as the next . One person can think a player was poor and another person an think the same player was brilliant . Both can be right but of course on this forum all Celtic players and manager are usually useless.

08 Mar 2016 19:14:27
Actually Precious, that is a total myth about Ostriches. By repeating such a falsehood, you are merely perpetuating the myth. Which makes sense, because as you say, sheep and lemmings follow each other no matter what is in front of them, in this case, the truth.

08 Mar 2016 20:56:11
No mate the only myth being perpetrated on here is that you are only a real fan if you stick your head in the sand and ignore all of Ronnie the trainees failing's, which I can't be bothered listing for the umpteenth time, by comparing him to past managers who were equally tactically inept.

08 Mar 2016 21:04:09
P. s . When threatened the ostrich will either hide itself by lying flat on the ground and covering it's head with sand, or run away . Source national geographic.

{Ed007's Note - Anyone with half a brain knows ostriches don't bury their head in the sand. For a start how would they breathe?

"Contrary to popular belief, ostriches do not bury their heads in the sand. The old saw probably originates with one of the bird's defensive behaviors. At the approach of trouble, ostriches will lie low and press their long necks to the ground in an attempt to become less visible. Their plumage blends well with sandy soil and, from a distance, gives the appearance that they have buried their heads in the sand." Source: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC.

That all came from you.

You brought up ostriches and burying heads in the sand etc. The original post wasn't about any of what you said. You decided to chirp in with that so don't complain when it gets turned back in you.

Some of you are so desperate to post about RD and his/ the teams apparent failings, you don't even care about its relevance to the thread at hand.

And FYI, I can't be bothered with people constantly slating the team/ manager. Say it once. Say it twice even. But we get it. You don't like him (as manager) . You want him gone. We get it. Point made.

Constantly repeating it (And the same tired, often erroneous, arguments) doesn't change anything and It's not helping anyone - certainly not the team.

08 Mar 2016 21:17:16
Oh no! Precious, dig up, DIG UP!

08 Mar 2016 21:56:23
Top you don't decide what people comment on, if people want to comment continuously on any subject that's up to them, if you don't like it don't read it . Ostrich is just the nickname most on here have given to people who hide from ronnies failures , my original post was actually about being in agreement with chasaboy that if you don't do your job to the best of your abilities in any walk of life you should be sacked , it should not take a game against a championship team to get the best out of the players, no mention of Ronnie till after your reply .

08 Mar 2016 22:11:08
Ed I never said the ostrich buried it's head in the sand, I said it covered its head with sand, my Labrador cover's herself in mud at every opportunity but I have never seen her bury herself in it .

{Ed007's Note - So the term calling people an ostrich is pointless because it's factually incorrect.}

08 Mar 2016 22:27:59
You posted:

"ignore all of Ronnie the trainees failing's, which I can't be bothered listing for the umpteenth time"

I replied:

"I can't be bothered with people constantly slating the team/ manager. "

You (then) posted:

"you don't decide what people comment on, if people want to comment continuously on any subject that's up to them, if you don't like it don't read it"

We can stop now. I'm not even going to mention the ridiculous debate you are now trying to have with ED. You're making a fool of yourself.

************* TEXT DELETED *********

{Ed007's Note - Try and keep your posts civil instead of resorting to childish name calling.}

Don't know what this new obsession with ostrich's is all about. Just to correct a fact, I work in an intensive care unit, if I was crap at my job people would die and I'd probably go to prison, so I do know a thing or two about taking responsibility! I never once said Celtic players or managers were useless, idid say Its time to stop peddling pathetic excuses if they under perform.
