Ian Bankier has said that the Overwhelming priorities are the Title and the CL group stages.
IMHO I agree with him and also think this is a veiled message to Ronny.
I think the Celtic Manager and indeed any Celtic managers top priority is to get the best out of the players he has.
Times change and so do priorities and so if for eg Rangers were still here and were spending 10s of millions and we cudnt compete with this but our manager had a good team to watch and were running them close and beating them the odd time then this would be ok as we would know the manager is doing his upmost. (See Tommy Burns for eg) .
Or even we had a quality young team that we seen were progressing all the time and we could see the benefits, these are examples of ok we not winning the league but we are entertained and we can see the players giving everything.
The message for me is get the best out of them no matter what, fans accept this because we know we can't win all the time because that's football.
But can anyone (Ronny fan or not) really say to themselves in all honesty our manager is getting the best out of what he has?

I think we all knew Ray, regardless of what the supposed experts said, we all knew Ronny had to do what any manager should do and that is do the club justice! We know the board can't be trusted but many teams in Europe pick players for the manager/ head coach - after that you have to do the best you can! Deila isn't the only coach in Europe with good ideas/ likes to bring through kids, for me it's not even happening because we've still got Tommy McIntyre looking after the youth team and the development squad because Stevie Frail left ages ago and wasn't even replaced! It's all smoking mirrors with Ronny and Celtic!

Ryman if you read the statement it sets out what the club expect which is CL football this year and SPL title. From my point of view I am amazed that PL has not got hold of Ronnie and explained that the loss of finance from no European football and dwindling gates is not acceptable. Yet PL has continued to come out in support of him, now the statement from the chairman puts a different slant on it. If Ronnie fails on either count he is gone! Also the profit for first 6 months is totally due to VVG sale. Now there is no one apart from Griffiths who will bring in any cash so without CL money we will lose money next season. We lost £7mill last year. By the end of this financial year we will register profits of between £7 and £8 mill, so Ronnie needs to get his finger out.

No manager gets a job on the proviso that he just improves one thing! Every manager should be looking at youth - just because previous managers didn't doesn't make it any sort of precedent or example. Because Lennon or O'Neill did something doesn't make it right! Ronny has to be judged on everything, just like everyone is in every job they do! There is obviously no point bringing though a Keiran Tierney every year if you are trading it off with doing well in Europe or something else! The whole club is underperforming at the moment, the kid in the street knows it!
