Im hoping buying fletcher and the pointless loans of the man city teenagers isn't seen as some sort of softener for selling griffiths . How much an offer would the board say they couldn't turn down for Griffiths. . would fellow fans be happy with a deal such as this with a figure of 10/ 12 million recieved for griffiths?
25 Jan 2016 11:56:09
There will be no 10 million offer for griffiths u think he's a cracking wee striker he should be Scotland's Main Striker before that imposter fletcher but u must have had some weekend if u think someone will offer that.
25 Jan 2016 12:01:46
I wouldn't put anything past this current board, if they think that they can get good money for Griffiths, and a couple of loan signings would still win us the league, then I'm sure that's what they would want to do, they think it's good business sense.
Whether Griffiths himself would want to go is something else though, he had a spell with Wolves and it didn't work out, so now he's probably the most settled he's been in his career, would he want that upheaval again?
The trouble is these days it's generally money which is the deciding factor with modern footballers.
25 Jan 2016 12:16:52
Just to clarify in my post I meant I think he is a cracking wee striker and should be Scotland's main striker I noticed its says u!
25 Jan 2016 13:21:43
Couldn't have been as good as yours ryan . I never said he was worth any price . I was asking what price would the board or fans consider a offer they couldn't refuse and threw in a big figure as a starting g point to see if people woould sell at that. what figure would make you say . OK take fletcher and sell griffiths.
25 Jan 2016 13:36:47
Aye Ryan! but comparisons to YOUR Waghorn are laughable, they are poles apart (even leagues) ! pmsl :-)
25 Jan 2016 14:42:54
Jamie? a didn't make a comparison or bring down the player a said u won't get 10 million for him I think he's a good striker do u think he's a worth 10 million?
25 Jan 2016 16:06:04
Given what some players go for I think he's worth 10m.
25 Jan 2016 16:09:06
Ryan, No a made the comparison because recently the two HAVE been compared in the one sentence
I never mentioned 10 Million? If he is under the length of contract he is how much do you think it would take to prize him away? How much do you think Waghorn is worth?
Me? £5-£6 mill for LG at least
No more than a million for your Waghorn (y)
25 Jan 2016 16:18:49
Do you think Griffiths is better than Ross McCormack Ryan? Middlesbrough have just had an £8 million bid for him knocked back, and he's nearly five years older! So going on those stats you could actually argue Griffiths is worth £15/ £20 million!
25 Jan 2016 16:21:07
He is better than Hooper and he went for about 5-6M, so who knows how much we could get. No doubt our board have a valuation (probably inflated) and if any club come and meet it, then Griffiths will be punted whether he likes it or not.
Personally speaking I would like to keep him as he keeps improving. He now does a lot of work of the ball, his link up play has improved, he has improved his heading ability and I have noticed that he is starting to score with the right as well as his favoured left.
25 Jan 2016 17:14:24
I don't think we would get anymore than 1.5 million for him because of the league he plays in if next season he continues a good goal scoring record his value would go up I would imagine! yes I would have griffiths over McCormack any day of the week but am sure u would agree the market down there is ridiculous they would happily offer that sort of money for a player of a rival club but probably wouldn't offer that for a player up here because of the standard of opposition they are playing against that's my opinion on it nothing to do with the player he is the best striker up here and by far the best scottish striker and should be a automatic start only strachan can answer y he plays a over rated clown before him!
25 Jan 2016 17:57:54
1.5 MILL! you hving a laugh?
whose still hungover from the weekend noo lol :-)
25 Jan 2016 18:20:03
Delphic you can't compare him to a striker in England and come up with a realistic price tag that way I'm afraid. The price of McCormack is based on the fact that Championship teams make so much money they can afford to reject 8/ 10/ 12 million quid whereas that amount would go a whole lot further for us due to lack of TV revenue so would be far more tempting to our board. The price really isn't necessarily what a suitor thinks the player is worth, it's more to do with how much their current club can afford to knock back. That's the way I see it anyway.
25 Jan 2016 18:29:41
Anymore than I think it says! alcohol free weekend for me fresh as today! ill wait till next season to judge his worth but I have no doubt he will score goals in premier league! ill leave the comparing to u Jamie then again come next season u will probably say a said something else n make a fool of yourself again 😂😂😂.
25 Jan 2016 18:31:59
No I absolutely agree about the leagues in England, and the prices they pay for mediocrity! That's not the point though, the point is Celtic have him on a contract until he's 30 so its irrelevant what their managers rate him at! All that matters is what Celtic value him at, if he had a year or so on his contract we'd struggle for a few million, that's not the case though! Every one of our players is for sale, and I don't mind who we sell as long as we re-invest the money! The problem we had was Ki, Hooper, Van Dijk and Wanyama all had between 1 year and 2 years on their contracts! All our assets are on long contracts, and we are in a healthy position financially! If James Forrest and Mulgrew leave then I'm cool with that! We also need a bit more quality and someone to play with/ compete with Griffiths!
25 Jan 2016 18:33:58
I am more worried to see us linked with another loan deal for the Man City boy Roberts. I really hope it's only paper talk. It's totally pointless signing him. He will be gone by the time the CL qualifiers come around. We don't need him taking up one of our own players places who need game time. As I say I hope it's paper talk but then again I wa praying we wouldn't sign Carlton Cole and we did!
25 Jan 2016 18:39:44
And by the way Ryan! I asked you also how much LG was worth which you failed to answer still having concentration/ counting issues? pmsl.
25 Jan 2016 18:58:08
I can count just fine! ill give u yer 5/ 6 million if u want a figure then maybe I'll stretch to 7 and a think Lawell would consider that offer if it came in! so u happy at that Jamie? or will we keep it going till a offer comes to see who's right? and since am 1 up on u from the last debate you need the win lolðŸ‘ðŸ¿.
25 Jan 2016 19:34:50
LG ain't going nowhere, Nice to know you are "fresh" no excuses then eh pmsl? given even that you had to clarify your initial point pmsl
you were not right last time I indicated you had joined a thread which you did and you had forgot!
And you will be wrong again this time because no offer will come that will trigger his release
But can you count past 7 or did you need to rely on my signage pmsl or is it just far too "taxing" for you as I said at the time no wonder Ed blames the schools (y)
25 Jan 2016 19:47:55
U where proved wrong mate end of u said a said something that I knew a hadnt and I told u my opinion on the matter u said I was talking nonsense I defo said it the Ed sorted it out n left u with a wee bit of egg on yer face as they say! ill leave it at that I'll not blame your school for u failing to recognise the truth and probably still think you where right unless your school taught talking 💩💩.
25 Jan 2016 19:58:11
"U" do you mean you? pmsl a rest my case
Don't recall Ed leaving me with "egg on my face" I pointed out later that you were involved in that thread and I was right as per
Last time it was Stokes you were on about now it's LG you got many more interests in Celtic players as a Sevco fan?
25 Jan 2016 20:03:41
Will never tire Ryan of putting you down, Just like your team I like to look down on you ;-)
