Don't know how popular a suggestion but I'd like calum paterson as lustig replacement / stand in / cover. athletic . fast. dig . mean streak and eye for goal.

Agree0 Disagree1

Wouldn't be a bad move but we still have janko and ambrose as rb cover.

god no can't stand him he's dirty rat we can do better.

He's one of the worst fullbacks in the league. He scored today though so no coincidence that suddenly he's put forth. Not for me.

Pp. he has 27 goals in 107 appearances . and he defintly isn't one of the worst full back In our league . and yes the goal again today in got me thinking of him .1 goal in 4 for a full back is shite isn't it . I think his on field demenour and personality put people off him . we've never bought someone like that before have we. still on 22.

@DeepRiverBhoy

He also played up front, which is where most of his goals have come from, so let's not fudge the truth here. This has been the only season he's been consistently at right back - and yes, he has four goals. He also managed seven last year in the division beneath us.

David Raven, Shay Logan, Ryan McGowan, Steven Anderson, Joe Shaughnessy are all better full backs in my opinion - and that's not to mention Efe Ambrose, Saidy Janko and Darnell Fisher, who are all better as well.

My opinion of him has nothing to do with his onfield demeanor - just the fact he isn't good enough and your dressing up of the facts and pretending he wasn't a striker (when using his goal tally as some sort of defence of his lack of ability to defend) doesn't disguise the fact.

Tavenier has scored quite a lot of goals this season, as has Lee Wallace - I wouldn't have any of them in our team as neither is a particularly good defender.

Pp . I know he has played up front and in midfield I never said or intended to say he scored all his goals from rb . is it not a positive he can cover these positions? . we have had strikers and midfielders with worse ratios than that. i'm not going to try and change your mind . as neither I ( or you? ) care about forcing opinions . but imo at 22 and what I've seen of him he would be good for us.

@DeepRiverBhoy

How can you say you never intended to say he scored all his goals from right back? You said and I quote, "he has 27 goals in 107 appearances" and followed that with "1 goal in 4 for a full back is s****". That's exactly what you were saying. You either didn't know he played up front for a majority of those goals, or you were being duplicitous.

Moving on from that- is flexibility a good thing? To an extent yes but I'd rather a master of one trade than a jack of all - and further more, I don't care if he can play in every position, if he's not good (enough) at any of them, I don't want us to sign him.

Finally, at 22 he's older than Janko and Fisher so I don't think that's a huge draw.

But as you say, it's your opinion and I appreciate that. We'll just need to agree to disagree.

I think your getting a bit too heated in your replies pp. He is now playing as a settled full back now which is why I suggested him as a lustig replacement. . his record is as i said 27 in 107 . so far this season is 5 in 20. 1 in 4 ratio. to get these figures I had to read up onhim which means I saw his career playing record so knew he played other positions. . let's draw a Line under it now as I can't go online petty arguments .

16 Jan 2016 21:21:45
I'm not heated at all - and it wasn't a petty online argument, it was a debate on an online banter site. But you're right - let's just draw a line under it.

Definitely not for me - he looks like a big Forrest Gump/ trier type! Jack of all trades and master of none!
