Tonight can be put down in part to a disjointed line up. With no starting eleven continuity it was a big ask tonight even despite our opponents relative poor quality

We had a spell on the second half but the issue for me was POOR decision making. LG could have found GMS in the box 2 Ms half. Forest could have found GMS first half but elected to check across goal three times before fluffing his shot

I can't fault the effort tonight but at the end of the day a good team knows when to find a colleague to make the chance easier to put away. We are disjointed and unpredictable and dare I say desperate looking

On the 2nd goal. Easy to look at Allan not they were on him in a nanosecond. He issue for me was two fold. Moments before we delivered a corner and chuck should have scored. They were weak in the air. Second opportunity and we play it short. We over elaborated when there was an evident weakness. That poor decision led to Allan being mugged. We are then three against two but boyata commits far too early instead of tracking back and making the extra man find the killer pass. A poor decision.

Ajax weren't better this evening. Poor decision making hurt us. We had promising situations but we made poor decisions in terms of capitalising. We weren't emphatic in front of goal. We also showed a lack of courage for their opening goal. Would a 1980s centre half have led with a lame leg to avert the danger or go in head first. Bravery has been an issue all seasons and it iis a serious weakness and worry for any defence because without it where does it leave us. Paul Elliott anyone?

Kierney outstanding again

Gordon did us few favours

Griffiths had a poor might. Too selfish for my liking. Perhaps being a lone striker has resulted in bad habits emerging. He rarely made the most of those delivering late runs which blunted our effectiveness. Football intelligence anyone?

RD is not the man for this job. Not because of tonight specifically. He simply isn't a winner. Europe has now become the elephant in the room. We have forgotten how to win. We don't know how to win. And our run has created an inferiority complex. RD will not solve this as it is now a mentality thing. The job is indeed too big for him

Just my view

No wild panic. No flying kettles. Tonight ) given injuries) was a big ask despite poor quality opposition.

I just sense that RD no longer knows how to prepare his team mentally to win in Europe

He has a big match phobia and we need someone who can RESET the mentality for the must win matches.

Agree2 Disagree1

Who would you replace RD with and what message would it send to a new manager when his predecessor was sacked while at the top of the league and still in all domestic competitions.

Paradise I agree with most of your post. ronnie says all the right things. He is now saying he will take us to CL next season. He says he can see the improvement and many fans will back him just on those remarks. Personally I think we have gone backwards. We are slowly getting worse game by game. Something in the squad is wrong! We did better in Europa league last season. Ronnie has signed 18 players. We should be doing better. Bottom of Europa League group. How much worse can it get?

I would propose the following

Alex Neil
Eddie Howe
Alan pardew
Michael ONeill
Frank de boer
Brandon Rogers
Malky McKay
David moyes
Neil Lennon return
Henrik Larson

All have their back stories and issues BUT they are all head and shoulders above the current management team in terms of mentality

RD is not a winner. We no longer know what it takes to win a big match
Counter that argument IE he doesn't win the big ones

We are not composed
We are not brave
We are not improving
We are not mature in possession
We make the same mistakes
We lack personalities and characters
We lack leadership
We are not progressing week to week

We might be winning more than we are losing domestically but we SURELY need to aim higher

If I woke up tomorrow to RD gone and any one of the above appointed I'd be happier

For the avoidance of doubt I want RD to succeed. I just so happen to believe deep down that he won't achieve a level of performance and consistency that I personally would be satisfied with and I don't think he will take us through three knock out cup ties and deliver us in to the champions league and that is a worry.

Malky McKay says it all really!

The decline in three years has been incredible.
We cannot even do the basics all over the pitch and lack not only obvious quality, but organisation and leadership.
The fitness and stamina of the players is also very poor.

Yes, there was a lot of effort and sweat, but not enough composure, execution and far too many basic errors and these are fast becoming the trade mark of Deilas teams.
Ajax, like us are a shadow of their former selves, but they could find their men and defend much better than us.
Why he has stuck by Gordon this season is absurd and although we have found a gem in Tierney - we have signed three guys from Dundee Utd who - like the manager - are way out of their depth.

Jesus Christ on a bike lol.
I never read what you said I'm laughing at your list still for different reasons, you know what they are 😂.

Big bad and more to the point

How does RD compare to them

He wouldn't be near any list until we unearthed him you find the list funny

Explain why any on the list would be a poorer option to the current manager please?

Ready to be educated.

He won't get sacked as he is still in a strong position domestically - so far - but the support expect Celtic to at least perform better in Europe, especially at home and especially when we are playing lower ranked opponents.
However I expect the fans will turn on him at any/every slip up from now on and attendances will drop even more.
We have become a joke in Europe under him and he should be honest enough to admit his failure and go.

But the thing is, Ronnie is still learning, he is young, he is not upto the job, but do we want to throw him out with the bathwater, he is gaining experience, but he is not a manager, he is like jeremy corbyn, he knows what to say, but he does'nt know what to do, get someone in like terry venables (is he still alive? ) , or an older more experienced pensioner who know what he is talking about.
