Evans is a top quality defender and has played at the highest level. Although his performances of late has been poor he's still worth in and around the 12mil mark however I would hope we don't accept anything less than 10mil for vvd.

One only has to look at the signing of James Chester from relegated Hull to West Brom for £8m to see the inflated prices paid for average footballers in the EPL and should harden the resolve of our board in holding out for a transfer fee much higher with regards to VVD.

Only have to look at united in fergies final years and he was a top performer when called upon alongsidevidic and ferdinand. Also has been a key reason ni is doing so well. Hard to know what vvd will go for, the league we play in does us no favours when it comes to selling. Also does anyone know if its definite that he will leave even if we qualify?

EPL players are regarded as in a league of their own . The media spoofing relentlessly about the best league in the world . Sky throwing money into the EPL as if there will always be a flood of money available results in EPL teams spending up to five times the value for another EPL player.
English people in a position of influence always run down everything in Scotland . There is absolutely no point , in their eyes , of comparing Virgil with Stone . They immediately say Virgil hasn't proved himself in the EPL .
Lawwell will battle as best he can for the best price he can get for Virgil when the time comes but at the end of the day we will be lucky to get between £8-£12m

Boys comparing VVD to Stones is crazy. The reason Stones is valued at £25 mill is because he is English. Teams on EPL have to have an English quota. As the EPL is full of imports any team who can have an English player on the park each week pushes up the value of that player. So VVD is not English. So forget the Stones comparison as his price is inflated due to being English. So VVD's price needs to stand up against any centre back in Europe. For £20 mill we are saying he is in the top 10 centre backs in Europe yet he can't get in the Belgian squad? Don't add up. If I have got this wrong then apigies so put me right Bhoys

Johnmac reason he's not in Belgian squad is because he's Dutch lol but a do get what your saying though a never meant to post he's actually the best in Britain but there's a lot of teams in England in top 6 who a think he would walk into there teams only time will tell whenver the big man moves on but a can only see him getting better and better

The vastly over priced (and over-rated) players in England are making a farce of their self proclaimed 'best league in the world' and you had to look no further than the Man City v Chelsea game to see how mediocre Sterling was in amongst REAL quality players like Silva, Toure, Hazard, Aguerro, Ramires and a dozen other, better and more accomplished players.
I still can't get over the prices paid for guys like Andy Carroll and Luke Shaw for example.

My own personal valuation, based on other players values is £15m. I'm with Davie, anything less than £10m with a decent sellon % or appearance bonuses etc and I'd be unhappy. Queation is though, if it's 8, 10, £15m - will we even see it put back into the team. This is where our transfer policy is totally flawed for me.

I reckon vvd would get a game for any team in England and Manchester United arsenal and Liverpool could save a fortune by signing him, with ffp it would make sense for Chelsea and City also
I rate him higher than Cahill and with Terry's age would be a great signing for Chelsea but moanrinho is far to arrogant to buy from the spl as is most of the top 6 down there
They would much prefer to buy guys like schneiderlin loveren Sinclair shaw from midtable English sides
I like Manchester United but I am so glad Ramos knocked them back and stayed in a better league and better club as the English press would blow the signing of real madrids captain as proof it's the best league in the world

Vvd is not better than stones that is a ridiculous comment to make look at the standard of player Vvd plays against each week and look at stones. I watch Everton when I can as best mate supports them and stones is quality. Strong composed and a good football brain. Vvd has been found out of his depth in Europe imo and stones plays against a much better pedigree and is consistent week in week out. I like Vvd but he is not anywhere near as good as some people on here think
