Mr Lawwell may be all powerful in the eyes of many Celtic fans , however when it comes to enticing highly rated and highly valued players including strikers , his power is very minimal. In fact when we develop a player into a decent player his agent and the Scottish media clamour for the player to leave Scottish football and go elsewhere especially England .
Every day for two or three transfer windows the Scottish media has told Virgil he should go .

We need a striker scout plain and simple! There are many players out there in that price range that will become stars but we can't find one anywhere it's a F ING joke the money we have wasted!

Armchair/football manager scouts are amazing. Do you not think we have a scouting network all over the globe? Just because a player looks good when playing for another club does not mean he's going to be a hit at our club/Scottish football. That doesn't make our scouts bad and maybe that's why we are going for player in the Scottish league. No one knows what's happening in the background at our club so why all the negativity?

{Ed007's Note - Don't you think that our scouting network has seriously failed in sourcing us the quality striker we've been crying out for for years? Or is the scouting network doing it's job and the problem lies at our chief executive level?}

I don't think it's a f. ing joke the money we have wasted on trying to get the striker we want . I am not too sure that there is any ambitious clubs in these islands who haven't bought players who haven't disappointed the buying clubs .
If it was easy to buy players who would all do well for their clubs , then part of the fun would go out of the game .

Ed007 I suppose in a way yes but it's got to be so hard trying to find a proven Striker with the budget we are willing to spend and even to entice them to play in the Scottish league. It's a bit of hope and see what happens. I think part of the problem is there are so many scouting networks for all clubs all over the world that the price inflates all the time as soon as there is a bit of interest.

{Ed007's Note - We've enticed players of the quality of Forster, Biton, Matthews, Ledley, Johansen and Lustig etc etc to Scotland so what's the difference when it comes to strikers? I've never really understood that excuse as we can attract quality when we are willing to pay the money, and it's not down to transfer fees, it comes down to the wages we are willing to pay.}

Cmcbhoy we have a scouting network who go to different continents to look at players! We have failed drastically in the chase for a target man CF! I'm liking LG attitude this season and I didn't want him near the Club! We have a right as fans to complain! teams in Belgium seem to be able to produce CF after CF! We need something to change!

ha ha fair play ed007, I get where you are coming from. I've always just thought as soon as there is a proven goalscorer his price value rockets. I also think that as soon as striker comes to our club he's scrutinised from day 1. I do get where people are coming from though as it's been a while since we've had a top striker.

{Ed007's Note - Strikers are always going to cost a premium but if you're shopping in the £30k a week market the chances are you'll get a better player than you will for £15k a week.}
