You must face palm a lot over seeing our little community here ED.

Over the last 3/4 years I've been visiting this forum, I've seen some great posts, rumours, tips, transfer info and banter.

Now I'm not having a dig at anyone this is more of an observation. Every season as pre-season is under way and we're getting into the friendly and qualifying stages some posters (again not a dig) after watching a few friendlies will criticise the team on the performances with in the friendlies which is fine but these games sole purpose is either bonding new partnerships, match fitness and if any new tactics that have been thought up. The way I see it is if I'm working in ANY other job and decide to take two weeks off go away for a week and lounge around for the other, maybe even indulge in a few pints. When I go back to work 8am Monday morning, it's a struggle I'm lethargic, can't be ar$ed and sluggish. Takes time for the holiday blues and the body to start functioning properly again.

Now back to my main point every season we go into the friendlies people will grumble about the performances, but come the end of the season everyone is praising the team. Once the important games are under way and the team is sluggish sure criticise the team but we can't moan about friendly matches when players aren't and shouldn't be going out all guns blazing.

See at end of the day Toprig, everyone is entitled to have their say on things that concern them no matter who agrees with what they say or not. Its called a forum! Who are you to dictate who says what?

My point wasn't to tell people what to do. It was more about accepting that players aren't going to give the same performances in friendlies as to competitive games

Toprig I agree with u to a certain point but when we lost that last pre season friendly nobody battered an eye lid! I think people just want the team fully ready for the away game in Iceland as CL football makes our season but u are correct that a pre season friendly is just that a tool sharpner!

Toprig the Big games have started these being CL qualifiers. So they had best be upto speed pretty quick.
