I think am experiencing some dajavu here a lot of negative feedback here about this lad ciftci and oh how dare he get the no7 shirt give it a rest and give the lad some encouragement and maybe just maybe he'll stick the goals away. This happened with leigh and he's done well. All am saying is its out of hour hands who we sign so get behind the manager and the lads he brings in give them a chance. I agree with your point about the shirt number. Its a lot of nonsence complaining about it in my opinion, however I think the fans have a right to be slightly critical of signing ciftci. I read further down the page a point someone made which I thought was a great point. This signing is not like a pukki, balde, scepovic etc as we knew nothing about them when they signed. We know what ciftci is all about after watching him for the last couple of years and he's not going to take us any further than the strikers we alredy have. In saying that I of course will give him my full support when he's playing for us but we I still hold the right to question the judgement of the board if this is the calibre we are looking at.

The signing again underlines the ambition of the club - and people that run it - are way short of the supporters.
People like me who have watched Celtic since the early 60's expect Celtic to not only sign entertaining, quality players, but bring through their fair share, from the ranks.
We are a huge club with the best resources and facilities in our country and a world-wide fan-base and the fans are being led a merry dance into believing we are consistently punching above our weight.
We have never been huge spenders - so we don't expect to compete with the richer clubs, but we should have a scouting and youth development system second to none with the amount of contacts we have built up around the globe.

You cannot compare LG to Ciftci , a like LG a was happy with LG he single handedly kept hibs in the league and won player of the year awards! Why are people so happy at Ciftci? What has he done? We seen him week in week out?
Is it because we have spent money?

Sam we are totally behind the manager. But lg was never signed as a first choice striker. He got his chance when gudetti started acting up and he has scored a few goals but please let's not get carried away. Nadir being given the no7 points to the fact that he is the main signing of the summer and if that's the case then I can't tell you how underwhelmed I am by that. I mean as it stands we are going to try and compete with europes elite with lg scepovic stokes and ciftci. Where is our ambition it's no wonder Neil Lennon got to. We should have pushed on from our cl qualification 2 years in a row. Granted we didn't do well the second year with ac Ajax and barca. But we had established ourselves as a cl regular with massive amounts of cash where was the ambition then. When it became clear nl wasn't going to be backed he walked. Rd needs to be backed with some quality signings because I can assure you mate if we don't qulify for cl again it won't be Peter lawell or nadir or lg getting the blame. It will be rd. and it could be his Job. It used to be we would take a punt on guys like ciftci as a back up. It now seems normal that that's the level we are at and people seem happy to accept that and if you express any concern you are told to give the guy time. Well I'm getting tired of giving penny pinched strikers time. It's time the board gave the fans something back. We could have been miles ahead in terms of scotish football now how far ahead does guys like that take us. What's the difference between nadir and Jon daly. I'd imagine at the time of leaving Utd Jon daly was prob on par if not better if in the scoring charts than ciftci. So this is not a personal attack on nadir ciftci as I wish him all the best. This is just someone who believes the club is going backwards.

Has Ciftci's case been heard yet,has'nt he got some kind of strange defence,maybe he'll be found innocent,never saw the incident myself.

He can wear 777777 on his back for all I care. He might not be the player we wanted but he is now one of the players we've got so let's cut the lad a bit of slack and give him our full support. He's here with good intentions and enthusiasm. We should all be of a similar mind.

Thanks for posting that,Ed,is it trial by jury or what,they not allowing anyone to review the incident in case it influences your viewpoint.
